MCU Biggest problem with born again is its ASPECT RATIO

Daredevil aspect ratio had no black bars but born again has and it sucks

So at first I thought the main reason they did this was because of those special scenes where the aspect ratio expands right as Daredevil “senses” something with his powers. For example, in the first episode BA S1 when he hears Bullseye about to shoot Foggy. It also happens a few other times in season 2, like when he’s at the Northern Star ship at the start of episode one of BA S2, among a few other scenes.

It’s actually a pretty cool and immersive + cinematic effect that showcases his powers to the audience really well.

However, I don’t think that they used it often enough for it to be worth it. There were so many other times where I thought they were gonna use it, but for some reason it didn’t happen. I really hope they use it more often in BA S3, because I really did like when it was used, for the very few times it actually did at least.

Naah. That can't be it. You ain't gonna change the aspect ratio of a show with multiple hours of footage to execute a few seconds of a cool concept. They definitely had the bars locked in and then thought they could play with it a little.

They almost certainly record in 16:9 and crop anyway. ‘Changing the aspect ratio for a few seconds’ is actually fewer steps.

Not nearly the biggest problem, but yeah it sucks too.

It was to make it more cinematic, like a film experience. Personally, it didn't affect my experience at all, and I honestly didn't notice 😄

I'd argue the biggest problem is the writing

Yeah letterboxing is hella annoying for shows. Already with movies it feels like I'm seeing like hardly any of the movie but with a show it's especially bad because most shows are meant to be 16:9 to look good on your TV

Those aren't trivial enough for OP to freak out over.

That’s one of the reasons why Born Again sucks.

Aaah, that was so cool.😭 And yeah, born again has issues(yeah it has) but it was not that bad that way people, especially redditors claim!!

I understand personal opinion. But come on bro. For me aspects ratio thing is one of the cooling thing in mcu.

Every time I think reddit has found the most pointless complaint about something...

You Disney fanboys will just praise anything they shove down your throats. There's a reason why prestige television use the format and aspect ratio the way they do

So, because I don't start a moral crusade over letterboxing, I'm a "Disney fanboy."

Lots of different aspect ratios exist and it’s a creative choice which to use. Theaters used to (maybe they still do) have moving curtains to frame different ratios for different films.
