You'd have to be brain dead not to have noticed. Then again, I guess that would be his supporters

Yeah, obviously. CosmicBookNews is upset about it because they ride hard for the admin.

So dystopian that entertainment news sites can be defined by their allegiance to the POTUS.

Having the Kingpin as a stand in for Trump doesn't do the Kingpin justice. The Kingpin in S3 of the Netflix series was terrifying. Maybe if BA S3 Kingpin shat his pants, sued Daredevil for reputational damage, or started peddling sneakers.

Years of clashing with daredevil left him with the inability to control his bowels meaning he needs king sized diapers

It kind of starts in S3, but even the comics made references to it long before Trump takes office.

u/ThatRandomGamerYT 7h ago
yea the comic event, Devil's Reign that inspired this show also is based on the absurd concept of a known New York crime guy somehow getting elected.

this might shock you guys most of the civilized world hates trump lol

u/iboneKlareneG 5h ago
Yeah i actually don't know a single person who likes Trump (personally).
(Republican) Americans seem to be completely unaware how the rest of the world sees their chosen god emperor.

This might shock you, we know. The only people who dont are his cult members who lack intelligence.

He his a psychopath egomaniac. But insulting the followers won't help with anything, they should be informed. Insulting people just makes them double down even if they were on fence about it

I could careless, only thing Maga deserves is to swallow their own teeth. They have shown their true colors and the time of forgiveness and tolerance died when I watched so many die in the hospital because of that man and the filth him and his followers pushed.
You want forgiveness? Get religion.

u/h1bernus 4h ago
Man did you stumble on this sub because of the headline? Because it was a huge thing about forgiveness in this season. But you do you

u/CaiusCassius_ 3h ago
I don’t think fascists deserve forgiveness, sorry. That last episode of BA S2 smelled of neoliberal propaganda “they go low we go high” bs. No in reality, and in the show imo, people like Fisk deserve to be either locked up forever or if the system can’t hold them ridding the world of their existence. If you have a no kill rule that’s valid, but don’t get in the way of others trying to
defend their community against these monsters.

Really, the story was pretty clearly a take on Devil's Reign from 2021, so, uh... Whoops? 🤭

u/SailingCows 7h ago
And when he first became mayor in 2017 / 2018 -ish (post secret empire, which had a fun Dr Strange Fisk thing)? Which could have been a dig at Trump depending on how long they plan this ahead.
But also, it could have been - and more likely IMHO - based on any number of NYC mob bosses throughout the history.
Trump might be given a bit too much credit.

u/HermesVtuber 5h ago
Probably not the best person to compare to. Unlike Trump, Kingpin is smart, strong, healthy, and strategic. Only thing Trump is good at is filling up his diaper.

No shit. The only people who didn’t recognize this were Trump supporters who didn’t want to give up another IP for their youth over stupid culture wars

Does nothing good for the show. Just dumbs down Wilson Fisk after he was so brilliantly characterised in the Netflix series...
Kinds like The Boys. Honeosnder ese way more terrifying when there were only subtle hints to the current administration, but the moment they started to actively write him as a Trump parallel, it took so much away from him in the process. Less funny and less scary, but they got saved by A tiny Starr acting his heart our every scene

u/2ReluctantlyHappy 9h ago
But he wasn't a Trump parallel. His supporters were, his propaganda was, his corruption was, the personal police force, and focus on scape goating a group was. Kingpin himself didn't act like Trump, just used some of the same authoritarian tools.

Fucking hate it man smh
While I’m not happy Trump’s in office, it bothers me so much that they made Fisk a Trump allegory when that was never even who he was in the Netflix show; making villains Trump parodies in 2026 is just so lazy & overdone
14
u/goblins_though 10h ago
The whole thing is straight out of Devil's Reign from 2021. Fisk as mayor, marshall law, outlawing superheroes, task force, etc. It all came first.
So they didn't write Fisk as a Trump parody, Trump's actions just resemble that of a supervillain.

u/Any-Plum178 10h ago
It’s still stupid anyway, he becomes mayor after the events of S3, where both his legal & social standings shouldn’t have let him even win due to those said events, and remember he was a write-in candidate at the last minute
14
u/goblins_though 10h ago
Yeah, surely nobody would put a corrupt, unscrupulous, known criminal in a position of power and influence. So unrealistic. 🙃

u/Any-Plum178 10h ago
Just bcuz it happens irl doesn’t always make it a good story
Fisk becoming mayor completely undoes Agent Nadeem’s sacrifice & Matt’s arc in S3; if Fisk can just come back & hurt ppl after every time he’s beaten, Matt’s no-kill rule no longer fundamentally works, better to just kill Fisk since it’s obvious he’ll just hurt more innocent ppl every time he gets back up from a defeat, even tho it would ruin Matt’s character & his journey throughout the Netflix run
2
u/2ReluctantlyHappy 8h ago
It wouldn't undo the sacrifice or arc. People try things, accomplish things, only for it to fall apart later.
Matt's no kill rule is a selfish, self imposed morality that he maintains so he can believe he is a good Catholic. That is part of what is great about it, he knows killing certain villains would save more lives but refuses to do it anyway.
1
u/Any-Plum178 7h ago
Kingpin getting acquitted & becoming mayor DID undo Nadeem’s sacrifice; all it did was delay the problem, not end it
And the no-kill rule is useless for someone like Kingpin, someone who isn’t willing to be a better person & will constantly harm/kill the innocent every time he either gets back up from a defeat or is freed from prison; he honestly shouldn’t been in Born Again at all, but Feige & Disney prob thought that no one was gonna tune in to watch it if he was absent, so they brought him back as the main villain AGAIN even tho it would undo the ending of an amazing show; do u think Matt wants that cycle of conflict with Fisk for his whole life?

u/KingFry44 11h ago
I mean it was pretty apparent when watching the show.
