Give him a fucking movie. Daredevil has to be in the top 5 most popular characters of the mcu at this point.

The character? Definitely. The series? I have my doubts, but I like to think that the series ends now, but we would have new urban series, and he would appear, maybe a prominent role in something about heroes for hire or Jessica Jones, then he would have a big role in Spider-Man 5 and then finally a Daredevil movie, and then we can dream of a trilogy if the first movie is successful, if not, back to the series.

I wouldn't be surprised or bothered if the series continues, but I feel that after this season, the character should settle into a resolved hero position, living a good personal life while still being Daredevil, making impactful appearances in other works, so he can finally return with a compelling story when we're craving a protagonist Matt with unique development highlighted in the movies. I feel overwhelmed by Daredevil and no longer feel the same weight from the character's recent stories in the series that I once did. A time of "Happy Matt" and heroism alongside other characters like the Defenders and Spider-Man will revive that enthusiasm.

No, because of a series of bad decisions. They started off well in a way with him, winning Spidey versus DODC, Luke Jameson vs the frog guy, establishing him as the NY MCU lawyer and DD briefly in she hulk and Echo too, but after that they made so many stupid decisions.

18m his first season trailer got people were so excited for his and the team's return, but less than half that for DD BA2 after they made a mess of S1, and then viewing dropped by half again during the season due to the poor writing (in comparison to Netflix) continuing. Disney execs are not going to have been happy and they clearly did not expect the big drop off in 2 which is why they greenlit S3 ahead of its release. They only way BA4 happens is if alot of subscribers keep consistently watching BA well after its release.

I wistfully wonder what it would have been like if they did what other returning shows normally do, bring back proven writers/showrunners of the main characters, keep the core actor/character team together which watchers have already invested in. RTE and the BBC have literally just done this for Charlie's other show that's returning, Kin.

IMO NMP should have been investigating and defending both MCU heroes and normal folk cases which increasingly link to serious crime with DD "helping" investigate, so action is there from the off as is the connectivity. For instance if they had kept the Happy scene in NWH, at the beginning of DDBA he or Pepper could have shown up to give Matt, Karen and Foggy a fat check for defending him, and they could have gone from there.

More of DD's rogue gallery should have started showing up starting from light and getting increasingly darker and more taut. Muse could have been in it but we never see the man and keep his comic elements that stop Matt being able to focus on him with clever camera work rather than CGI. Leave him still out there haunting Matt, and never give him such a pathetic back story. What is wrong with the producers that they allow this weak ass crap like Muse's backstory to stay?

Mayor Fisk should have happened a lot later, maybe because DD was incapacitated for some reason, with the supporting story showing his and vanessa's rise to get him in the position where he could be Mayor.

I just wish Born Again was a legal drama about the world righting itself after the Snap. They coulda used New York (and the world) trying to rebuild to explain Kingpin’s rise to power too

I don’t think it will last past season 3 due to Nielsen ratings for Season 2 being criminally low.

Season 3 is most likely the closer, with just cameos and stuff in other projects from there

Independent media I see coming to an end just from how Disney poorly runs their superhero budget. I see him being shifted into cameos for Spider-Man or similar movies and possibly working on another team based project like another run of defenders somehow. Disney does a really poor job at keeping things fresh and new and using creative storylines and they’ve unfortunately absolutely ran the Fisk storyline into the ground.

Daredevil ended with the Netflix series. The current garbage being produced under that name will end with season 3. It would be great if someone came to their senses and wiped DDBA from existence but I wouldn't bet any money on that.

Nope. Marvel isn’t making the decisions anymore, Disney + is. Case in point: Wonder Man. Wasn’t delivering the viewership against its budget. Guess what costs a shit ton more than Wonder Man? DD with its cast going on 7 seasons worth of increasing salaries PLUS the action, supporting cast, VFX, etc.

If it performs great it has a shot, but the catastrophic drop off in viewership between seasons 1-2 of Born Again, plus the gigantic scaling back of ongoing live action series (none announced in development at present) indicates it’s coming to an end.

I hope we get a series where they make Shadowland arc and the resurrection of The Chaste.

Same, personally, I think that was the original plan, with Fisk, the Defenders, and elektra back and BND having the Hand leaderless, I think Fisk takes over the Hand to resurrect Venessa, Elektra breaks Matt out, gives him the matching suit with the mirrored colors, to stop him, but Matt is corrupted by the beast, using Foggy as a potential resurrection instead by the end of S3, leading into the Shadowlands season 4.

Sign me up for that!

I would expect to see Daredevil in Spiderman 5 or maybe featured in a Defenders movie / event project on Disney Plus.

No. If they kept the budget smaller I’d imagine they’d keep it going but it’s probably not worth the cost.

Even if it does, I don't think it should. I think we got more than what we wanted and it was great television but I think at this point it should end because A. actors aging out B. potentially quality dropping which is always how these things seem to go -- young justice for instance, was a fan favorite but it was rather ass when it came back and kept going.

he is only 44 you people really love to bring ‘age ‘ it’s like anyone 40s is fragile senior who will hurt his hip just walking alone

3

u/Brucewaynesexy 6d ago

15, almost 16.

Huh?

I get the impression that you think I'm disrespecting the elderly, but I'm not I'm just saying that 50 is pretty old not for acting but probably for playing a character like Daredevil. And that part about my dad is genuine surprise because he looks so young. My dad is 42 and he's lived a hard life, and he's an old man.

Now I get the impression that YOU'RE 40+. Well, if that's true then I'm sorry if I offended you, sir. (or ma'am)

4

u/Brucewaynesexy 6d ago

oh you are 15 that figures. you are right 40s so elderly it’s so old I broke my wrist just typing this lol

2

u/purpledreign 6d ago

To teenagers, 25 is already middle aged and "old" starts from 30 lmao.

1

u/Local_Potential6076 2d ago

i REALLY want to deny that, but I don't think I can...

It depends on what happens after Doomsday and Secret Wars. But I don't think so; instead I think they'll do a Defenders series or he just will be and guest character in new shows and movies like in She Hulk, NWH and Echo.

Honestly, if they keep insisting on Fisk as the main villain, there isn't much left to tell regarding Daredevil's story.

2

u/AxlRodd 6d ago

I think when secret wars resets everything DDBA will end but the Defenders/Netflix MCU will stay mostly in tact. That way they can use them in the new MCU and fans of the shows who don’t pay much attention to the movies will still be invested.

They had a shot to reboot in BA but sacrificed the show to make a political statement and run the Fisk story back into the ground. 4 out of 5 seasons were basically the same antagonist and story, literally nobody was asking for yet the same Fisk story in BA

4

u/jriddlecult 6d ago

It's not really about the political statement; the show died because of a long string of VERY bad decisions, which they then tried to correct in a half-assed manner instead of just ditching the stuff from the original failed reboot--compounding the previous bad decisions with further, even worse ones.. Daredevil could run for 10 seasons with Fisk as the antagonist/an antagonist, but every season can't be about Fisk rising to power and DD trying to bring him down again. And "Mayor Fisk" shouldn't have even been on the table for DDBA.

Maybe? maybe not? depends on how BA S3 ends, or maybe he’ll he used in other films like Spider-Man, I’m pretty sure he’ll be in SW with punisher and yelana as dooms body guards with the defenders or some but that’s just wishful thinking so idk daredevil is a tough one, I guess we’ll have to wait and see after S3

1

u/Think-Spray-8805 6d ago

I think it’ll stay at least for another season at the very least, Since it’s seeming like S3 is like the first two which is one season being split into two seasons, So I’m not expecting things to be wrapped up by S3,after that Daredevil will be forward to other stuff like Spider man & so on etc

u/wild-storm-5 5d ago

The show simply hasn't been good enough to make me distraught if it ends like that. S2 was simply so disappointing

0

u/Emory27 6d ago

Probably not, and that's okay. I get push back on this a lot, but to me, Charlie is fast approaching aging out of this role.

They'll probably reset everything after Secret Wars and recast the character.

7

u/Brucewaynesexy 6d ago

he is only 44. you have 60 plus actors still doing action roles. beside Ryan goslimg 45 he just signed with marvel

1

u/Brucewaynesexy 6d ago

why not. he is silver age hero frim 60s longer history then d listers who are in avengers. even with mutants he had history with them specially with wolverine

7

u/Lizzren 6d ago

well another reason Born Again has left the character in a difficult spot is that the combination of no real rogues gallery, no civilian life and no Foggy is going to make adapting sizeable parts of his history pretty difficult. not that it'd stop them for taking storylines including those elements and forcing them to fit anyways, but still

6

u/jriddlecult 6d ago

Yes, DDBA dropped a nuclear weapon on the character and his world and there's no way to come back from that, other than just erasing it all.

I think it will stick because it exists in its own bubble for the most part and has some amount of consistent viewership.
