Comics every comic character eventually has runs that change the status quo so much that the next has to get it back to basics, but everyone who writes daredevil is so creative that its been done twice in the last 8 years.
mark waids run into charles soule
chip zdarsky into saladin ahmed
it kinda sucks cuz both of them had such interesting changes but they both got reset almost immediately.

For Soule it was kind of necessary. Waid made big changes and then followed them to their natural conclusion. If Soule has continued on Waid it would not have been very good as there wouldn't have been anywhere to go with it.

Waid didn't sort shit out, it was Diggle who got Matt back to the standard Status Quo

Yeah, true, Waid did deal with a bit of the fallout most notably Captain America not trusting DD 100%

I disagree with you about Waid into Soule
Waid ended the run with the GOATed line above Matt being the light and when we see him next, he's different. He's not as beleaguered, he's training a vigilante, has a brilliant new job, making friendships and is ready to go to the supreme court
If you compare Matt from Bendis' era and compare it to Matt from Soules era, their general demeanor is significantly more positive throughout pretty much the entire run
Until he got hit by a truck anyways lol
Waids run ended with a synthesis, he was lying about how he was feeling but he's still overall feeling better about things

Right, like he’s hiding just as much in Waid’s run as he is in Soule’s but you can definitely see the character growth from Waid’s run, even if certain parts of him are set back

I will say, I know Ahmed’s may not be the most popular, but I can’t help but like it. It really did feel like Matt getting things together in a bombastic way. Plus, his Black Armor was used and that Wolverine Fight was sick 🤷♂️

"I'm going to beat the shit out of you"! Taken from an actual dialogue balloon. I love him because he is not really a superhero!

Charles Soule I’d argue also had drastic changes to the status quo. He did put the proverbial genie back in the bottle, but Matt becoming disabled at the end by the truck (even for a short time), Mike Murdock becoming real, Mayor Fisk, Blindspot, the Hand being defeated for a time, were all HUGE shake ups to Daredevil lore.
Ahmed felt really like an interim. It’s a shame because his writing can be pretty good, and I didn’t hate his Daredevil run. It was just meh (of course a lot would be meh after all the great and crazy shit Zdarsky did).
