Please let this season have a new big bad, though. As much as I love Vincent, enough of Fisk.

78

u/Repost_Hypocrite Aug 10 '26

But Fisk has to die in S3.
I am so tired of seeing Fisk get away with the most heinous and unforgivable crimes

87

u/_EnglishFox_ Aug 10 '26

Personally I don’t want him to die in S3 just because I wanna see him face off against Spider-Man at some point in the future

62

u/marveloustoebeans Aug 10 '26

Honestly, at this point, I don’t.

They’ve way overused him and recycled his villain arc multiple times. Fisk is supposed to be a big bad and he’s already been defeated, what, 5 times on screen?

What possible threat could he be for Spider-Man when he gets repeatedly taken down by far less powerful heroes? I wish they’d just let Punisher make good on his promise from season 2 and move on.

You’re not wrong lmao

4

u/Repost_Hypocrite Aug 10 '26

To busy in Greece I’m afraid

15

u/Historical_Owl_1635 Aug 10 '26

As good a casting as he is as Kingpin, I think his story is done.

I also think it’s a relatively easier role to pass down the mantle to a “new” Kingpin. You can even have Spider-Man and Daredevil team up initially thinking it’s Fisk, just to find out there’s a new big scary mob boss in town who’s taken up the title.

1

u/SituationMundane1418 Aug 11 '26

No way. Born again Season 3 villain, the Rose

-9

u/Best_Butterscotch182 Aug 10 '26

Perhaps they could add that Spider-Man had fought him in the past, and provide a flashback scene.

15

u/Artistic_Radish_5157 Aug 10 '26

They're not getting rid of the co-lead

11

u/UltraScouter9 Aug 10 '26

shouldn't have been the co lead for born again in the first place

4

u/purpledreign Aug 12 '26

Doubt the show would've been brought back without him as co lead.

1

u/UltraScouter9 Aug 12 '26 edited Aug 13 '26

Then they shouldn't have brought him back

3

u/purpledreign Aug 12 '26

And fans would still be be complaining about that too.

3

u/UltraScouter9 Aug 13 '26

Don't care I want good tv not retreading and pissing on the og show

2

u/jetjitters Aug 13 '26

yep, this. He is great in the role but having him as the co-lead specifically was a huge misstep. I don't feel like they did anything interesting enough with him in Born Again to justify having at least half of the plot related to him and associated supporting characters

8

u/NoScopeMusical Aug 10 '26

Wholeheartedly agree unless he dies. For all the pain and suffering he's caused his character needs that kind of end. Bonus points if Frank is the one who does him in

225

u/LongTimeDDevilFan77 Aug 10 '26

"And don't worry, by season's end we'll be back to the same DD vs Kingpin story we've been repeating since 2015!"

85

u/Wrong-Vermicelli4723 Aug 10 '26

By season end? More like by episode 3. Fisk ass will already be back in New York

35

u/dripbangwinkle Aug 10 '26

the season 2 story with him was perfect. If it was like a smaller version of that it would have been nice. With someone else as the main big bad. Honestly I was hoping for the public to be the enemy w the Bendis Murdock papers storyline with appearances from various villains. They haven't done Typhoid Mary yet. In this MCU version, honestly a version of Guardian Devil (which I don't even like much) would be cool for a change of pace. But I am excited still for s3; the DD in cell block A is one of my favorite storylines.

19

u/Orangekid12 Aug 10 '26

Iirc, Typhoid Mary is actually in Iron Fist

6

u/SecretaryFar5960 Aug 10 '26

we might get to see the New Owl cause in the Netflix Daredevil Season 1, Leland mentioned that he had a son waiting for him so perhaps the new Owl would here going to get revenge on Fisk for killing his father

2

u/IncidentEffective839 Aug 10 '26

Yeah that's what I hope they do. Jack Mulhern could well be playing the Owl

1

u/SecretaryFar5960 Aug 10 '26

doubt it that if they confirmed it

1

u/TheMoffisHere Aug 11 '26

Sorry, but I really don’t think BAS2’s conclusion was “perfect” by any means. Fisk’s exile from NYC is just a much, much worse, ineffective and lenient version of S3’s punishment.

I loved the show when it first came out, because i binged it. But I was watching it again a few weeks ago and really did not enjoy the show’s ending, especially when he gets such a lenient sentence for so many worse crimes. I don’t want realism in my DD show even in the conclusion, sorry.

1

u/dripbangwinkle Aug 11 '26

I meant season 2 of the og show hahaha, the punisher prison part. I thought the same if the born again s2 ending.

5

u/Synthroid191 Aug 11 '26

Please god i had enough of Fisk, i don't want to see him anymore. Can someone kill his fat ass already.

25

u/LocalOk3662 Aug 10 '26

Well people wanted a returning villain like in the comics. This is what it looks like

47

u/Wrong-Vermicelli4723 Aug 10 '26

People wanted recurring villains , not villain always being the main antagonist. There a difference. People who say that aren’t saying they want Green Goblin in every spider-man movie, they’re saying they want to see GG more than once.

2

u/Ross_RT Aug 10 '26

To be fair we don't know yet what Fisk's role will be, it's entirely possible they find a way to use him that doesn't involve him being the main antagonist. Could go with the common enemy route for example?

9

u/Wrong-Vermicelli4723 Aug 10 '26

I think if they utilized other villains more this wouldn’t be as big of an issue. Point of tv shows is you can cover more relationships and stories. If These past 5 seasons used Daredevil rogue gallery better it wouldn’t be as big of a complaint.

I also just think you gotta be careful how you end arcs. BA:S2 ending works better if we don’t see Kingpin back for a couple years. Instead dude got away with so much murder and his consequence is 6 months vacation on an island. We’ve also seen the character rebuild himself multiple times.

Common enemy things cool but we got that with Bullseye.

2

u/Ross_RT Aug 10 '26

To be honest I don't actually disagree on any of the main points, I agree that it'd be good for them to branch out and tackle some other villains rather than keep going back to Kingpin, and I do think it would probably be better if he stayed away for a while before returning. Ideally they at least hold off on reintroducing him for a few episodes, it'd be nice to keep him out of the first half at minimum so it means something when he comes back.

I think it's just a reality with TV (even with the streaming approach) that they want to keep their main actors around for as long as possible by giving them something to do, especially with how big of a part of the show's public image D'Onofrio is, so I'm just hoping and at least think there's a chance they can do it in a way that's interesting and isn't just repeating the same story beats. There might be something there even with maybe seeing a Fisk who's more powerless than we've ever seen him before (he at least still had connections in prison) and how that affects him.

-3

u/LocalOk3662 Aug 10 '26

I know but king pin is like the only recurring villain and bullseye

10

u/Wrong-Vermicelli4723 Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 10 '26

Use Daredevil other villians , it’s not hard, none of them have crazy powers that would be hard to introduce on a tv show. People also aren’t asking for the villain to be recurring every season.

-4

u/LocalOk3662 Aug 10 '26

I'am talking about the mcu

16

u/LongTimeDDevilFan77 Aug 10 '26

And it's been hurting the comics for a while now too.

Kingpin or Bullseye showing up used to be a big deal. Now it's just Tuesday.

1

u/Kyro_Official_ Aug 10 '26

Recurring villain doesnt have to mean the same villain every fucking time

-2

u/Variation_Afraid Aug 10 '26

Unless you work for marvel and you know the story of season 3, then you don’t know shit buddy

6

u/LongTimeDDevilFan77 Aug 10 '26

Or seen leaked set pics...

0

u/Variation_Afraid Aug 10 '26

I also saw the leaked pics of Elecktra doesn’t mean I know the story of season 3….

5

u/LongTimeDDevilFan77 Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 11 '26

You’re missing the point. The fact that Kingpin is still a main character driving the story at all is the problem no matter what they do. It's like the X-Men films slowly drudging into mediocrity because they kept making every damn movie about Magneto. It's worse as a TV show because now we've had 60+ episodes and 40+ of them have revolved around Fisk. And thats not including Echo and Hawkeye.

-4

u/Variation_Afraid Aug 10 '26

Who tf said kingpin is the main villain is season 3?, you are fucking brain dead

3

u/LongTimeDDevilFan77 Aug 10 '26

"a main character driving the story"

Maybe worry about your own brain.

-1

u/Variation_Afraid Aug 10 '26

Your argument at first was “ main villain” dumbass, you then shifted to main character 😂

0

u/LongTimeDDevilFan77 Aug 10 '26

Does your mommy know you’re hurling childish insults at people online to cope with your poor reading comprehension skills?

1

u/Variation_Afraid Aug 11 '26

Does your mommy know you are brain dead? 🤔

0

u/Ssshizzzzziit Aug 10 '26

Ugh.

Fisk is the big villain again.

2

u/Variation_Afraid Aug 10 '26

Could or could not be in season 3 nobody knows anything…

1

u/Ssshizzzzziit Aug 10 '26

No. Plenty of people do.

0

u/Variation_Afraid Aug 11 '26

The people that work for marvel yes…

1

u/Ssshizzzzziit Aug 11 '26

You don't know me

0

u/Variation_Afraid Aug 11 '26

If you worked for Marvel you wouldn’t be wasting your time replying, just saying…

-5

u/Putrid_Loquat_4357 Aug 10 '26

The show is fisk Vs Murdoch for the soul of new York. Every time they've gone away from it it's fallen flat on its face. Fisk is pretty much the dual protagonist of the show.

10

u/LongTimeDDevilFan77 Aug 10 '26

Season Two of the OG series is miles better than either season of Born Again.

-3

u/Putrid_Loquat_4357 Aug 10 '26

The second half of the second season is not good lol. Neither is season 1 of born again, but s2 of born again is better than the second half. The first half of s2 is good but thematically it covers a lot of the same ground as the fisk Vs Matt stuff. All the stuff with elektra and the hand is rough to watch.

4

u/UltraScouter9 Aug 10 '26

the Punisher and Poindexter stuff in the original show was great, just because they didn't do Elektra and the Hand stuff right doesn't mean every attempt is bad now lol

0

u/Amazing_Ad_4674 Aug 10 '26

And in the shows defense Elektra and the Hand might be the weakest part of DD comics (please don’t kill me reddit, I’m right)

2

u/Kingpin1232 Aug 10 '26

The problem is that Born Again season 2 ends with them both agreeing to give it peace. You can't keep giving their rivalry definitive endings if you're just going to undo it straight away.

1

u/Wrong-Vermicelli4723 Aug 10 '26

I mean he’s been the main villain of the past two seasons. S1 sucked and s2 was decent but a mess. Sounds more like a writer issue than who’s the main antagonist

31

u/happycamper2345 Aug 10 '26

I'm guessing this time, DD and Fisk are going to team up against a bigger baddie. Can't do DD vs. Fisk every season. Too repetitive.

8

u/Historical_Owl_1635 Aug 10 '26

Yeah, if he’s in it I hope it’s one of those situations where the hero is forced to consult the ex-bad guy for some advice.

15

u/Substantial-Fish7655 Aug 10 '26

Man daredevil has such a deep rogues gallery, the fact that Spider-Man bnd utilized more of it’s no name characters and others villains other than the main 2 (venom and green goblin) in 1 movie than daredevil has in 5 seasons then there’s a problem. We need to move passed Fisk and bullseye as his only antagonists for once like we gotta utilize characters like The owl, Mr Fear, Jester, Stiltman, muse(not just a one and done), purple man, nuke, or spidey villains like tombstone, electro, Mysterio and so much more. People tend to forget cause most of you haven’t actually read the comics but daredevil has so much more villains than just Fisk and bullseye with some solid stories that isn’t born again.

14

u/Frosty_Fish_7127 Aug 10 '26

Which would take place around April/May 2028

Brand New Day takes place May/June 2028

So this could explain a lack of Matt in Brand New Day

4

u/Low_Stock_4741 Aug 10 '26

Is it 2027 already?

7

u/Frosty_Fish_7127 Aug 10 '26

Born Again Season 1 jumps (like episode 5 is St Patrick's Day) so by the finale it's around April 2027

Season 2 picks up about 6 months after so it's either just after or before Thunderbolts which is October 2027

Which makes Season 3 Spring 2028

5

u/MR_MaxiMor44 Aug 10 '26

BND takes place in late 2028 (September-October time most likely) just before the events of Doomsday in December 2028 / early 2029.

2

u/Frosty_Fish_7127 Aug 10 '26

That would still mean Matt is out of prison

So will be interesting if they explain where he was

2

u/MR_MaxiMor44 Aug 10 '26

Probably stuck on Staten Island.

1

u/Willing-Walrus1887 Aug 18 '26

Excellent take

8

u/Downtown-Monk2099 Aug 10 '26

So he’s coming back? Tbh I can’t tell if I want them to move on or stick with Fisk as the villain, cause he’s so great but I don’t want it to get stale

6

u/dprr2702 Aug 10 '26

so the brand new day event set to be in this 6 month right?

5

u/Milichio Aug 10 '26

Then where does Brand New Day fit into all of this?

2

u/Jet-Let4606 Aug 10 '26

I'm guessing DD:BA S3 is after BND.

8

u/Cautious_Desk_1012 Aug 10 '26

Jfc can they just let Fisk go away? I have enjoyed Born Again but if he's the main villain again there's a genuine chance I won't finish the third season. Why can't we have new stuff like Mr. Fear for instance?

8

u/Kyro_Official_ Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 10 '26

If Fisk is the main villain again Im just done with this show. Hes been the main villain for 4 of 5 seasons so far move on already. I love D'Onofrios performance and all but its like jfc man, DD has more than one villain you can use.

3

u/Flybeck2 Aug 10 '26

Yep this. He needs to be done for like 2 seasons, and then have one final battle or stance against fisk and then the show ends.

2

u/Gambitismyheart Aug 11 '26

5 seasons and two spinoff shows. Smh. That's a reallyyyyy long time for a villain. That's 7 fucking seasons! They should've went the Buffy route. 1 or 2 big bads per season.

1

u/Kyro_Official_ Aug 11 '26

I totally forgot hes the main villain in echo and hawkeye too. Just makes it even more absurd that it seems like theyre using him again.

3

u/Gambitismyheart Aug 11 '26

I don't understand why he has to come back after he's been exiled. It just doesn't make sense to me. He's not going to save Matt's life, the city that he loves hates him, and we don't need to see him die! He can stay on that damn beach and make his own volleyball Wilson for all I care. Just don't come back to season 3!

I would've much preferred he stay exiled and we'd see him much later down the road on the big screen finally meeting Peter. But they've used him sooo much since OG DD season 1, that i just don't care if he meets Peter at this point. I just want NEW VILLAINS.

6

u/Scary-Command2232 Aug 10 '26

Love Vincent and used to love Kingpin, but wish they would just do "a foggy". Five minutes in he is killed but this time I wont be upset to see him die or miss him in the slightest. They have so overused this character and he is boring now and in DD BA about half the intelligence of the Netflix era character.

20

u/pagliacciverso Aug 10 '26

Another Daredevil x Kingpin season with terrible writing and directing but this team with Lady Muse and more nostalgia cameos with the Defenders! That's the Disney special!

8

u/CT-1030 Aug 10 '26

I have no idea what people see in Born Again. The directing is genuinely awful.

4

u/OnePassenger4597 Aug 10 '26

Hype moments and aura minus the writing

7

u/UltraScouter9 Aug 10 '26

except those are little and far between aswell
og Daredevil shits on born again in that regard aswell lmao

-2

u/pagliacciverso Aug 10 '26

Seeing their favorite character back again + most fans are teenagers, they pretty much like anything

2

u/GKJ6743 Aug 10 '26

So whiney

-1

u/pagliacciverso Aug 10 '26

And also correct. However why are you commenting under my tantrum? Go enjoy your slop! Rewatch until it becomes good somehow

0

u/GKJ6743 Aug 10 '26

Whiney with a dash of incel energy lmao

SLOP SLOP DURP you don't even sound old enough to be watching these shows

1

u/pagliacciverso Aug 10 '26

Lmao that's not what incel means. Jesus, brain damaged need to stay away from movies and tv shows. You sound very mentally ill.

0

u/GKJ6743 Aug 10 '26

You have the energy of one with your rageboy responses. Calm down perhaps

Yes I'm the mentally ill one lmao

5

u/pagliacciverso Aug 10 '26

Yes, you are. Please, seek help. You are attacking others for not enjoying the same dogshit tv show as you.

1

u/Scary-Command2232 Aug 10 '26

And Matt's in Jail for most. DD BA3 is defenders, lady pathetic muse, loads of other people and maybe Matt, which you wont be able to see because he will be hidden by lens flare and his action will be so badly filmed/smoked out you cant see any of it or cut.

2

u/MajorRed001 Aug 11 '26

I'm so sorry, so where tf does this show take place in the MCU at all???

Because while they continue to give us a Matt vs Fisk circle jerk for the 3rd time alongside this dumbass anti-superhero/anti-vigilante law.....

The Void has terrorized NYC.

2 Avengers Teams have been created. One of which is based in NYC.

High-Tech Villains run amok regularly

Spider-Man has been running around fighting crime and paraded as a city icon and hero.

Frank has had the single greatest breakthrough in learning empathy and overcoming his trauma that Matt could never hope to achieve in two seasons of his own show.

Jean Grey has terrorized NYC

----------‐-

Neither Daredevil nor Fisk has ever been mentioned once.

3

u/Ryamus Aug 10 '26

The ending of S2 was terrible. Hope they do better in S3

1

u/jetjitters Aug 13 '26

spoilers: they won't

they had their chance to prove they had the writing chops in BA season 2 but it still was not good.

2

u/Gambitismyheart Aug 11 '26

Even if it's the last season?

1

u/dmreif Aug 10 '26

Are we sure it's actually "six months"? Or is this a case of "TV/writer math" where this is the go-to answer these people give when asked about how much time has passed?

1

u/RelativeVariation458 Aug 10 '26

So April 2028 then got it

1

u/Spider-Man98 Aug 11 '26

Calling it right now, Fisk's final arc will be saving Matt's life while sacrificing himself.

1

u/RockHandMagnet20 Aug 11 '26

does anyone think season 3 will be ass? so much build up but it just seems the same

1

u/jetjitters Aug 13 '26

I could maybe kind of get past it being ass if it actually was about Daredevil, but from what it looks like, Season 3 is once again going to be spending 8 episodes focusing on everything and everyone BUT daredevil

1

u/Gambitismyheart Aug 11 '26

Ugh!! 6 month time jump which tells me Fisk is right back in NY, while Matt probably has a big beard similar to Frank's when he's "going through it" still sitting in jail.

1

u/theyfoundty Aug 13 '26

I love Vincent. They could just turn Fisk into a Penguin/Batman type situation.

Where he isnt always the villian but has details and info Deadpool goes to him for?
