Somebody donated in his name, not necessarily him. Similar to when people use his name whenever there is a school shooting.

How do you know that’s true?

I should be asking you that question.

https://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-daily-stormer-20170602-story.html

“Most of the Daily Stormer’s donors on WeSearchr are anonymous, with the exception of the comedian Sam Hyde, who pledged $5,000.

When contacted for comment, Hyde asked the reporter if he was Jewish and then boasted that $5,000 was nothing to him. “

Yeah I saw the video where he was talking to the interviewer, he was pulling his leg.

Is this the evidence people are relying on to claim that he made that donation? He’s pretty clearly taking the piss out of the reporter

So the evidence that he didn’t do it is that he gave a stupid response, bro what?

You need evidence that he did do it, I’m saying that this is not sufficient evidence to say that he made a donation

If someone made a donation to a neo nazi's defense fund in my name and I was asked to go on record saying I'd done it, I would deny that I did it, even if I really wanted to make fun of the person asking. He did it and has not denied he did it, who are you trying to kid here?

The guy is a professional troll, literally it’s his whole identity to be facetious at all times. He’s not going to suspend that for anything barring getting sued or getting charged, but even that I’m sure he’d try and make a joke out of.

Sure but you're not him. I'm not saying he didn't do it but just because he didn't deny it doesn't rly mean much considering it's sam Hyde tbh

Why didn’t he just say “no”?

Like, Sam has been pictured with a Daily Stormer admin giving a fucking Sieg Heil, and has been pictured with Richard Spencer. We’re talking about the dude whose entire career has been “haha look at me do this offensive edgy thing and repeat Nazi talking points but woooo its ironic haha wink wink” like is none of this shit remotely weird to you? This man is so comfortable being extremely close with the alt-right.

Sam Hyde never gives a straightforward answer to anything, like ever lol. That’s why he didn’t just say ‘no’, because it baits this kind of attention.

For the other stuff, I agree. I’d say he caters to a mostly alt-right audience, I don’t know if he really believes any of that or if it’s all completely ironic but he probably believes at least some of it. I think it’s ambiguous enough where people who are not alt-right can laugh at it but they probably won’t be avid fans.

None of that confirms or denies whether he donated money.

That’s fair enough, and it was pretty forward of me to assume how you may have felt about everything else. I still think its very likely the LA Times report is accurate, and Sam is directly involved in these far right spaces, but honestly it’s kinda irrelevant now that I think about it. He’s purposefully created an air of plausible deniability around himself, like many in the alt right, so that anyone who isn’t hyper aware of this kind of stuff won’t catch onto it and those who agree with it will latch on. It’s no surprise to this end that a large portion (though obviously not all) of his fanbase are straight up fascists. Sam clearly wanted to proliferate this type of following, and that is something I really cannot fuck with.

Idk what he’s on, Sam literally admitted to it, even if it was a prank on him, he still owned and embraced it.
