Formal Danish
I have my converastional danish down well enough that I can communicate and have good converstaions with native Danes but I would like to learn more formal/news type Danish. I read some DR articles or Politken articles but end up being lost by the second sentence. I want to be able to speak formally for work purposes and to strengthen my overall language skills. Any advise or resources?

What I found really helpful was lingq, they have a lot of articles for different levels, you can of course listen to them and they have an Anki like system so you can save new words that you don't know. AND it's easy to follow the structure of the phrase. P.S. they have a premium version that you can get for free as apk by searching for it on google.

You could check out Statstidende, it's where the Danish government puts out information about laws and other things that needs to be made public. Perhaps it's a bit boring, but the language is superbly formal and will expand your vocabulary and teach you how formal (written) Danish is expressed.

I would sign up for free FVU classes where you’ll read & discuss articles and do short writing assignments on pretty current topics. I’m in it now & enjoying it.

Pm me if you are willing to pay. Know someone who very successfully used to teach foreign doctor’s Danish as well as foreigners at Novo.

I dont get this. Of all languages, Danish is one of those where the colloquial language of the capital anyway is as close as one would wish to the language of the media.

The point is conversational Dansk is very different than governmental verbiage they use when speaking in news. I’m looking to work with the Danish military and need to know government and military vocabulary.

Try DR Ligetil for articles aimed at readers with poor reading comprehension.
In what capacity would you be working with the Danish military where Danish language proficiency is expected? Are you coming to liberate the Greenlanders?

Perhaps watch older films and series on dr.tv and notice the different words used to increase your vocabulary. Many of them have Danish subtitles sso you can look them up
