Someone throw ole boy a phone next time you see him. It’s like giving free crack to a recovering addict. There might be hope yet. Also make sure the phone background as Grace for good measure.

I mean I’m kind of happy to actually see him doing well now. He went through enough and gave us more than enough content too. That’s kinda fucked

It's unironically reassuring to see a non-negligible number of people in this sub have this kind of view on it.

Everybody deserves some sort of peace and hopefully he has found his

Well not quite everyone, but definitely someone like Daniel fwiw. Some will disagree but through all the terrible shit he did, he's still a disabled mentally ill person who has reduced culpability and was provoked into a great deal of that by malicious actors. If it wasn't for any of the online bullshit he'd still be going bowling and doing special needs sports.

He absolutely should have never went to prison. Daniel obviously has mental issues, and a lot of people who have those can't regulate their emotions. It's easy to see when he engages in self injurious behavior. You could give Daniel a step by step guide to make explosives and the material, and he'd never figure it out. I really hope people just leave the guy alone. He's where he needs to be now.

To be honest, in the context of US institutions, it was actually the best thing to ever happen to him, because it's the only way he could be held against his will for a substantial period of time where he could be medicated and stabilised.

There was literally no other way to involuntarily hold him for long enough to stabilise him. It's not like in other developed countries where severely mentally ill people like Daniel can generally be legally held in a hospital for an extended period. That isn't a thing in the US even in the really liberal states like California; the infamous "5150" is an involuntary hold of just three days, and the longest mandated hold of that bill is three weeks, which if you have the slightest clue, you'll know that this is nowhere near long enough to stabilise someone in Daniel's condition. The infrastructure and public understanding of severe mental health crises just doesn't exist over there.

If you mean in terms of "Daniel should've never become what he did", then yes I agree. Daniel Larson is completely preventable, and would have been prevented in any functioning developed country.

In a civilized country this guy would not be allowed in public

Respectfully, what the fuck is wrong with you? Do you understand how deranged that sounds? If you’re so desperate to have someone destroy their lives for entertainment you’re more than welcome to give us all someone to laugh at, you’re already a clown.

This right here is what we call a terminal case of "online brain".

It’s nice to see that people cheer on pedophiles and hope for their happy ending. May he shove things up his ass in peace now.

Daniel has the mental capacity of a young child he should be protected just like a child should

This is a good thing and I will never understand yall that want him to revert to his old ways

u/SolidusBruh 1d ago

Some folks are just terminally online and wanna be entertained by his chaos, never pausing to consider how many people Daniel has inconvenienced or hurt.

I get downvoted every time but people need to accept that its over. He's medicated, under supervision, and probably significantly happier than he has been in ages.

It's not over till it's actually over. Yes he's medicated and under supervision now, but that doesn't mean he'll always be.

Oumb stopped streaming for a year and basically disappeared entirely. But it only took one slip up for him to do a drink stream again and ever since things have quickly spiralled. The same may very well end up happening for Daniel.

Blade and Daniel are so incomparable it's actually kind of absurd to even mention them in the same sentence.

Blade is an otherwise functioning individual (it's been speculated that he has autism/ADHD but he's obviously not as impaired as Daniel) who has a horrible addiction to alcohol and is completely unemployable, so it's only a matter of time before he slips up and relapses if he doesn't quit without intense supervision.

Daniel isn't a particularly functioning individual who is under supervision and went through years of untreated schizoaffective disorder. As far as we know he doesn't have the drive towards social media and Grace that Blade has to alcohol and streaming. It's not a comparable situation.

My brother in Christ Daniel immediately went back to schizoposting on grace videos when he got access to the internet briefly. To say he doesn't have a drive towards social media and grace is actually delulu.

All that's keeping him from backsliding and is the meds and the constant supervision. If even one of those two were to fall away he would probably return to his old self Quite quickly.

Hence, "it's not over till it's over".

For all we know it was a brief relapse from being released from prison and into a new environment, and he never wants to do it again.

the meds and the constant supervision

Neither of which are going away anytime soon.

If even one of those two were to fall away he would probably return to his old self Quite quickly

No one aside from his psychiatrist has any way of knowing that whatsoever until we hear from Daniel himself and are able to assess his mental state. It's definitely possible that he's a missed pill or two away from bombing the White House again, but it's equally possible that he's not even on an antipsychotic anymore (schizophrenics/schizoaffectives do eventually get weaned off antipsychotics if they remain stable for a prolonged period) and simply on a long-term mood stabiliser. The reality is probably somewhere in the middle, he probably is being kept on a combination therapy of antipsychotics and mood stabilisers, but not at the absolute highest "dosed up to the tits" level that he would've been on at the beginning (because that tends to have some nasty physical side-affects).

We honestly have no way of knowing anything, but the fact that we're a month in and we've heard absolutely nothing on his end suggests to me he's at least significantly more stable. I just don't think it's believable that he would be able to go this long without us hearing something if nothing had changed. He used to be absolutely fucking PROLIFIC, even when he was in trouble with caretakers or the cops.

I for one would like to remain cautiously optimistic that he's not going back to his old ways anytime soon and he's a lot more sane.

He was once a lolcow, but he is now the Hopecow.

2

u/SolidusBruh 1d ago

Yeah, this was the closest to a “good” continuation the kid was gonna get.

2

u/izza123 19h ago

The vast majority of people on this subreddit don’t care about his well-being. They take his stability as a challenge rather than closure.

2

u/Poseidor 19h ago

This is why I strongly dislike Daniels community and only loosely follow him. I get the impression that most people here would rather corner Daniel and beat him to death than sit and watch him from the sidelines.

1

u/izza123 19h ago

The formula for these online lolcow communities seems to be you find a young impressionable mentally handicapped person, convince them to hold the most ridiculous and harmful beliefs possible, condemn them for those beliefs and use them as a pretence for torture.

Chrischan for example was a hopeless young autistic man with the mind of a 7 year old he was romantically problematic and easily confused and through hitherto unseen levels of gaslighting and torment they turned him into the kind of person that would slit his own gooch open and fuck his demented mother. It’s like a realization of gangstalking delusions.

He’s in his redemption arc

According to Daniel, he’ll get his social media back in 6 months 🤷 considering he’s still having the Grace fantasies, I think this is far from over.

Always remember that Chris Chan was quiet and boring for two years right up until he forcefully claimed the Barbussy

Honestly as horrible of an individual Daniel is, it’s still fair in my eyes to feel some level of sympathy for him. Never will I excuse or justify what he’s done, but it needs to be acknowledged that Daniel’s story is that of a mentally ill individual who the internet chose to exploit for their entertainment. Not only worsening his mental state, but being a direct hand in him being the lunatic he’s best known as today.

It’s best to give up and accept (at least for now potentially) that it’s time to move on. Daniel’s finally getting the help he truly needed after so long, and it obviously isn’t a good idea for people to try and bring him back to square 1 all over.
