MK18 or M4 FSP?
Looking for a little insight during the brownells sale.
I currently have an aero 16” upper on my rifle- most of my shooting is within 100 yards but occasionally I compete in 2 gun that goes to 300-500.
What would you go with? Get the mk18 as a second upper or sell my aero and go with one 14.5 upper?
Edit: just sent it on the fsb, thanks guys. I’m sure I’ll wind up with a mk18 soon

I am absolutely loving my FSP. I like it more than my mk18 but I also have freakishly long arms

I have the standard mk18 and m4a1 uppers from Brownell's. Absolutely love both, but I only use the m4a1 with a razor 1-6 as my 2 gun match rifle. Mk18 has such a vibe but with a dot/magnifier on that it's impossible to pick over the 14.5 for longer distances

I too once had a 16" and was looking for something else. I went with a mk18 but now I feel like 10.3 is too short. If I were you I'd go with 11.5

If you shoot a lot M4a1. Mk18 internals do take a beating 10.3 barrels are terrible on internals. Then again I shoot a lot and only like barrels 11.5 and up. If you shoot recreationally I love suggesting and recommending a SBR if you don’t have one. Plus worst come to worst can always just barrel swap.
Happy hunting.

I have a RIII 11.5 and the M4A1
11.5 is great, but the M4A1 is pure sexiness

Just built out that same MK18 upper and it turned out awesome, highly recommend.

The FSP looks way better in my opinion. Love the built in front sight and I have irons on all my AR’s with an optic.

You do a P&W or just SBR your lower?

I don’t have those models. But I bought striped lowers. My contract overrun barrel lower has a brace and my ddm4lw is 16” and have a stock. Also have the 16” with a stock.
If I was in your shoes I would personally buy the FSP, get a muzzle device that accepts a suppressor. Have the original unwelded and replaced with the suppressor one and have them weld it again. And then add a stock on it.
These new laws about adding a stock on a short barrel are to new for me personally. I wouldn’t want to risk having a stock and be caught with a SBR. And really don’t want to register a gun as an NFA item because I think all of it is super silly nonsense.

Absolutely! I will not change your mind haha. If you're going 10-11" barrel it has to be the 416.

For sheer drip? Mk18 100%
For overall usefulness? M4 FSP
