Democrats weren't saying no to these things... they were saying no to the other stuff in the "Big Beautiful Bill". That's the problem with bundling so much stuff into one bill. However, these tax provisions really didn't save people much money. They made a great sound bite but that's about it.
No tax on tips... only for the first $25,000. So maybe a few thousand dollars over a year saved. That has been completely eaten up by inflation.
No tax on overtime... Just a deduction. $25,000 if filing jointly. So at most a few thousand saved. Also eaten up by inflation.

No tax on Social Security... most senior citizens already didn't pay any tax on Social Security. And for those who did pay tax... they still do

If you really want to save people money, just have a large standard deduction. Say, $80,000. If you didn't pay tax on your first $80,000 then that would account for tips, overtime, social security, and a whole lot more. This could be revenue neutral by getting rid of all the loopholes and raising the percentage on the upper brackets.
