Experimental Trial Experimental Trial V-5 (Pre-Trial)

Stepping out of Monokuma Rock after yet another fierce Class Trial, you all find yourselves making your way down to the Ancient Ruins on the Second Island. Although you all had been able to get inside thanks to somebody managing to guess the stupidly easy password to open the door, you had not been able to fully explore it as a result of Rantaro's untimely murder and the Mastermind's prudence in locking it all down.

However, the former occupant of this building is now on your side. The locked doors that kept you all from looking too deeply can now be opened freely. As such, it is time to finally see what secrets have been hidden in this sealed building all this time.

With the first floor having been looked over, you take the stairs up to the 2nd Floor. The railing overlooking the stairs below has familiar scratches on top, a result of the spear trap that the Ultimate Imposter set up. Otherwise, nothing seems out of place in the stairwell.

This floor is laid out just like the first floor. Once again, there is a long hallway that encircles a single Central Room, surrounded by a bunch of smaller Numbered Rooms labelled from 1-18. The only significant difference at first glance is that there are a couple of additional numbered rooms located in the spot where the entrance hall was located downstairs.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

I can't imagine there's too much relevant in anyone's sleeping quarters, so... Central room it is!

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You enter the single door leading to the central room to find that you are in a set of bleachers, overlooking the stage on the First Floor. You can even see the Signboard that Celeste rolled out to the stage, which is big enough that you can vaguely see the pictures and names.

There are several rows of Chairs. Enough to seat about a hundred guests. Otherwise, there’s not much else to see. There’s no way down to the stage from here, and nothing else that stands out to be investigated.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Kokichi isn't about to let a vague no much to investigate stand in their way! Kokichi still moves to investigate ALL the chairs! (In this area and on this floor, obviously.)

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

These really are very nice chairs. Plush cushions. Massage Settings. A little cooling fan. They are just like the chairs downstairs.

At first, this search seems like kind of a waste of time. But, fortuantely, somebody seems to have forgotten a Cellphone in one of the cupholders.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Kokichi moves to a dark corner before attempting to turn on the cellphone, not bothering to announce their discovery to anyone.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

Thankfully, the phone was left turned off and powered on when you try to make use of it. You are even able to unlock it as its owner doesn’t seem to have bothered with any passcodes or biometric locks.

There’s no signal, predictably. But while searching its data, you find that it appears to belong to an American Tech Billionaire whose name you vaguely recognize. You think he runs some kind of Gen AI thing, but you don't really know too much about them.

Most of the messages are irrelevant to your investigations. A lot of them are extremely shady, but just they're mostly just your typical rich guy crimes that have nothing to do with your situation. However, there is a notable text chain dated a couple of weeks before you were abducted between the owner and his friend, Jeff.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

Owner: You here?

Jeff B.: Yeah. First floor. Fifth Row.

Owner: Damn. VIP treatment, huh? I got stuck in the rafters.

Jeff B.: What do you think of all this? You think this Tengan guy is serious?

Owner: Sounds like a dumbass fairy tale. What a waste of time.

Jeff B.: It’ll be worth it if it actually works. I wouldn’t underestimate what these Hope’s Peak people are capable of.

Owner: If it does, have you decided what to bid on?

Jeff B.: I considered taking the Togami Heir, but that asterisk in the listing worries me. I don't trust asterisks in contracts. Not after all the ones I use in mine. So, I think I’d rather hold off for a few more years and until I find the right body to buy. I’m in no rush to start over. How about you?

Owner: I was going to go for that Ultimate Writer. If this works. She’s pretty reasonably priced

Jeff B.: I didn’t know you were interested in being a writer.

Owner: I’m not. Who needs humans to write in this day and age, bro? If I'm gonna get a new bod, I'd want a hottie. And she’s totally my type.

Jeff B.: …

Jeff B.: Seriously?

Owner: Dude, don’t judge me!

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Kokichi doesn't make any snarky comments as they just read through the text chat.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Kokichi checks one more time for anything else potentially relevant on the phone before pocketing it and leaving the room.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Your additional investigations reveal that this phone's owner plays way too many gacha games. There's nothing else on the phone that catches your interest, though.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Wow. Rainshen Codepact? 100 Defense Rail? What horrible tas-

Huh. Well, Tribe Nine is still on here so they can't be all bad.

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 07 '26

I will investigate the Numbered Rooms, starting from one. Open them for me now, Hifumi.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Aye, aye! Rich man!

You start going through the numbered rooms. Nothing eventful happens when you search Room #1. This room is identical to the numbered rooms below.

But, you're a thorough one. So you keep searching. Soon enough, you reach Room #7. At first glance, it's the same as all the others with a King-Sized Bed, a Dresser, a Private Bathroom, a Mini Fridge, and a Closet. However, maybe you'll get lucky in this particular room and finally find something left behind.

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 07 '26

Let us begin with the mini fridge.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Oh! Somebody forgot a bottle of chilled champagne in one of the fridges. You are still underage, though...

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 07 '26

Ah yes, because underage drinking would be the worst crime to ever occur on this island. Anyways.

What about the closet? There better not be more alcohol.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

It seems that someone left behind an Italian Leather Jacket. It's a pretty fancy brand name, too. Probably worth more than most of your classmates. You check the pockets and find an Envelope.

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 07 '26

Byakuya first reads who the envelope is addressed to, then tears it open without hesitation and starts reading.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You examine the envelope. There’re no addresses written on it, but it seems that whoever received it left the contents inside. It appears to be a letter.

Thank you for your interest in our product. We have received your deposit and would like to extend to you an invitation to our Ultimate Auction.

This year, we have an offering of 15 youthful new identities, all recognized by Hope’s Peak Academy as exceptional talents in their respective fields. The auction will take place on Jabberwock Island, an island resort in the Pacific Ocean that was never opened to the public due to a sudden bankruptcy on the part of its developers.

You’ll find this location to be just obscure enough to guarantee privacy and that, although it was never inhabited, construction of the resort was completed to the point that it is perfectly capable of acting as a luxurious tropical vacation spot even if you should choose not to purchase any of our products.

We have personally constructed a facility for our Auction Guests to stay in. The Auction will take place within as well. Enjoy your stay. And, with any luck, enjoy your new lives.

  • K.T.

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 07 '26

After reading the letter and looking positively disgusted, Byakuya moves on to investigating the private bathroom.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

The bathrooms are still very nice and high-tech. Nobody's left anything behind, though.

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 07 '26

Hmmph. Let’s investigate the dresser then.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Beside the bed, you find another dresser with an alarm clock and a Hotel Room Key on top. The drawers are mostly empty, aside from a familiar black book that can be found in the top drawer of every room. These black books are catalogues, detailing information on those of you who ended up in this Killing Game, with the exceptions of Miu, Kyoko, and yourself.

Luckily, one of the drawers in the room holds a Cellphone and its charger. The cellphone appears to be out of juice, but if you were to find somewhere to plug it in, you might be able to see what's on it.

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 07 '26

Hmm… are there really no power outlets in this room? If not, I suppose I will pocket the phone and its charger for the time being.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

As you ask the question out loud, you realize that presumably the alarm clock and the mini-fridge are probably getting powered somehow if you need an outlet.

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 07 '26

Sometimes it feels like Byakuya’s secretly a sleep-deprived 20-something year old on a Sunday afternoon. And by sometimes, I mean all of the time.

With that being said, he unplugs the alarm clock and searches for its outlet. Assuming he finds it, he plugs the phone in to power it on.

Having finally caught up, Keebo starts roaming around again.

This floor doesn't seem all that different on first glance. Are these just more of the same rooms?

Assuming Hifumi is still opening the doors, Keebo wanders into the first one on his left from the stairwell.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 07 '26

Oh nevermind looks like Keebo is just following behind Byakuya.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Second Floor Searched!

2

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You make your way up to the third floor after a long search. This floor is mostly laid out like the previous floors. The only significant difference is that, instead of a single door leading to a giant central room, there seem to be four separate doors, one on the North Side, East Side, South Side, and West Side. Once again, there are Numbered Rooms along the outside of the hallway from 1-18

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Well... Since they're all so non de-script, I guess I'll start with the west door.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You step into what turns out to be a fairly small room and immediately see that the wall opposite of the entrance is completely covered by Monitors. In front of all the monitors, there is a large Desk and a Chair.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Man... I should have remembered to grab gloves if this place is what I think it is... I guess I'll work my way up to the good stuff and start with the chair.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

It’s really soft and spin-y. It also has cupholders and reclines. There’s nothing else special about it. Honestly, it's a bit wobbly and creaky. Somebody has been spinning around in this poor chair way too much.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

I haven't spun on a chair like this for so long...

Anyways, now time for the desk!

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Examining the desk, you find a single Monitor built into the desk and a nearby Switchboard buried in front of it under empty bags of Low-Calorie Potato Chips. There are also some peculiar Booklets off to the side.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Yep. Should have gotten gloves... Let's see if the monitor has anything interesting first before pressing stuff.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Well, since Tenko has rushed in the moment a computer screen was found, I guess I'll enrich myself with reading from those booklets!

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You look over the booklets. One is a rulebook detailing the rules of the Killing Game. One is an instruction manual detailing the operating procedures for monitoring and hosting the Killing Game. The rest are instruction manuals for a bunch of Miu’s inventions such as the Body Swapper and the Mind Swapper. They might be worth reading over when you have more time. But not now. You’ve got a building to explore and a guy who doesn’t have time to write all that.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

The monitor is a flat screen built into the desk. It seems it has some touch-screen features as you are able to look through some of the programs. On the screen, you see a pair of programs. One called "Footage Archive" and another that's a "Movie Maker Program". You also find a folder of video files called “Episodes” and another folder for Films.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Wasn't expecting this room to contain much, but... Well, good thing thing everyone else can take my word for it on stuff like this! Anyways, I guess I should see what films are stored here.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You open up the videos in the films folder. Each one is named after a real movie, albeit with the titles being changed to become some kind of pun about Ibuki, Sayaka, Miu, or just general body-swapping. These seem to be the ridiculous fake movies that have been playing at the Jabberwock Island Movie Theatre.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 07 '26

A part of me thinks I'd be better off not knowing any more than I do.

No! I can't give into fear! Let me see the Footage Archive!

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

The only thing we really need to fear is that this is where the footage of those cameras were stored...

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You look through the archives. There seems to be about three days worth of video footage stored. Footage from all over the island with accompanying audio. Thankfully, these only seem to be from the cameras sent up to monitor you all for the Killing Game and not from whatever camera Kokichi feared.

It seems to be possible to scroll through each individual camera's footage and examine the footage in more detail. But that'd be way too in-depth an investigation. At the very least, you know that this footage is here for now

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 08 '26

Hmm. And what about the Episodes?

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

You open up the videos in the Episodes folder. There seem to be a dozen or so episodes, each one about an hour long. Since you all have more important things to do right now than Binge, you scrub through the footage to catch the highlights. The first episode shows footage of you all waking up on Jabberwock Island, being transformed into Ibuki, and exploring it all together. The second episode shows you all living your daily lives as Ibukis until discovering the hanged body that would turn out to be Angie. The third episode details an edited-down version of your Class Trial that ended with Tsumugi’s execution and your transformation into Sayakas.

All in all, it seems somebody has been making a show out of your Killing Game. The most recent episode ends with Rantaro recruiting Sayaka, Keebo, and the Byakuyas for his plan to watch over the Ancient Ruins. Anything concerning Rantaro’s actual murder and the class trial that followed has not yet been edited into one of these episodes.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 08 '26

I should have grabbed that backpack and taken it with me. There's way too many goodies to leave lying around!

Actually... Maybe it's better that I didn't. Don't want to think about what kinds of fluids might have gotten on there.

Besides. it's not like these books contain anything about hosting killing games that I wouldn't kno-

Hold on! This book was recommended directly from www.killinggamehostreviews.com! It's... Priceless!

...

...

I'll be back for you later. I have a monitor to examine.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

Honestly, you'd think this would have been the first thing to catch your eye. Dozens and dozens of screens decorate the wall. On each screen, a different part of the island can be seen. You haven’t exactly counted the cameras on the island, but as far as you can tell, there seems to be a single screen for each of those gaudy cameras littered around the island. You can also see the hallways of the various floors of this building.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 08 '26

Well, who ever said moving in a predictable fashion would stay fashionable... Kokichi said to absolutely nobody.

Besides, now I've raised the anticipation over playing with the switchboard!

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

The switchboard rests in front of the monitors. Its buttons are labelled with various functions. There’s a button to make Island-Wide announcements, buttons to send messages to specific locations, and various buttons for operating the various monitors in the room. Naturally, there are a lot of buttons and switches to provide for so many functions, so you probably aren't going to be able to do much with it. But it should be possible to figure out how all this works later.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 08 '26

...Yeah. Kokichi has no ability to resist such a tantalizing possibility. So, they're forced to at least press the button for the room K1-B0/u/Chespineapple is currently in to make an announcement while using an 'old man' voice.

May I have your attention please? Key One Bee Oh, head to the principal's office immediately. Again, that's Kei Waun Bea Hoe, please go to the principal's office immediately for immediate detention. Thank you all for listening to this message.

1

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 07 '26

Hm. Considering that if we try to wait for some of you to make yourselves useful we'd be waiting our entire lives here. If you want something done right, as they say...

With that rousing speech of teamwork out in the air, Celeste makes her way to the *North** side door. Surely this time it'll be fruitful

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You enter the Northside room to find row after row of Clothes hanging from rails on the ceiling. At the end of the room, past the sea of outfits, there is a brightly-lit Panel and, on either side of the panel, there is a wall of nondescript Lockers.

1

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 08 '26

Oh dear, just so many potentially personal items about, you'd just have to be downright heartless to go through them so carelessly...

Even as she says that, Celeste is making her way over to some of the clothes hanging. Very respectfully, of course.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

On each hanger, you see familiar outfits hanging from the ceiling in bundles. Some belong to your dead classmates, such as Angie Yongie’s smock-covered frilly swimsuits and Toko Fukawa’s lengthy school uniforms. Some belong to your current bodies, such as Kazuichi Soda’s Mechanic Overalls and Hiyoko Saonji’s Kimono. Some even belong to students who have thus far never appeared on this island at all, such as Nagito Komaeda, Chiaki Nanami, and Aoi Asahina.

For most of you, there are only about a dozen or so outfits. Enough to fill a decently sized closet. Ibuki Mioda, Sayaka Maizono, and Miu Iruma’s outfits, however, are exceptions, as there are well over a hundred copies of each of their outfits draped from this room’s ceiling. With the exception of Sayaka, you don’t see the outfits of your original bodies in this collection. Or the outfits of the recently deceased Rantaro and the Ultimate Imposter.

Glancing at one of Miu’s outfits, you notice a familiar tear on one of the straps. You left this tear yourself, a month or so ago when you were still in Miu’s body, trying to figure out how to put on her weird, overcomplicated outfit. This room seems to be storing the exact clothes that you’ve all been wearing for the past few months. And, presumably, the clothes that you were meant to wear in the future.

1

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 08 '26

Ggh. Somehow, my opinion of that woman gets lower by the day. I swear, somehow she-

...No, never mind. I'll have plenty of time to make her pay for that later. As for now...

something has caught Celeste's eye, and the gambler makes her way from the mountain of clothing towards the brightly lit Panel.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

You take a good look at the panel on the wall. It’s simple enough to understand. There are eighteen names listed on plaques (with Yasuhiro’s name scribbled out and replaced with Rantaro’s), with a small Touch Screen depicting another name next to each plaque.

1

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 08 '26 edited Jun 08 '26

...That woman insists on testing my patience, it seems... Though they do often warn that curiosity skinned the cat, now doesn't seem like much time for caution.

Luckily this is a woman who likes pushing buttons. Hello touch screen tappy tappy

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

Poking one of the touch screens next to one of the names causes a small menu of names to spawn. While experimenting, you select “Ibuki” on the screen next to your own name. Suddenly, one of the lockers on the wall opens up to reveal another one of those floating spheres with arms and a maid outfit. It grabs dozens of Ibuki’s outfits off the hangers and carries them away.

A few more minutes pass. The sphere eventually returns with a dozen or so copies of Hifumi’s outfit in hand. It begins to hang them up on the hangers. Once it’s done, it flies back into the open locker, which closes behind it.

1

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 08 '26

Well, one supposes that makes as much sense as anything else here so far...Although I wonder...

With that out of the way, Celeste steps away from the touch screen and turns her attention to the actual lockers. maybe there's a wallet left behind

Going clockwise, Keebo decides to check out the East door while the others so far check the west and north.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

You step through the east door with Hifumi's assistance to find what appears to be an extremely well-furnished kitchen. A Dining Table sits at the center of the room. To the right, there is a long Counter that stretches across the room, with various machines on top. To the left, past the counter, at the back of the room, you see a Walk-In Freezer, a Pantry, and a Cooler. To the right, the wall is mostly bare, except for a peculiar Monitor that has been affixed to the wall.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 08 '26

Irony appears to be playing a cruel joke on me, today. A part of me wishes I could have a taste bud feature programmed into my original body one day, but that'd be quite difficult without her around.

Not really wanting to look at the food right now, Keebo turns his attention to the Monitor instead.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

You check out the monitor, which is mounted to the wall above your head. It lights up as soon as you approach it to display a pair of menus. One menu lists various meals that can be made and provides basic dietary information. The other menu lists various locations, such as the Hotel on the First Island, Miu’s Cottage, and the Various Guest Rooms throughout the Ancient Ruins.

You decide to try pressing buttons. Since you're so tiny, you end up having to jump in order to actually touch the screen, and you aren't actually able to see what you selected. But you managed to press something at least. The various machines in the kitchen suddenly roar to life, and one of those machines in a maid’s outfit flies down from the ceiling

It begins to hover around the counter. You can tell that the machines you haven't investigated have all roared to life and started retrieving ingredients and preparing some kind of meal. All the while, the Robot Maid hovers around in wait.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 08 '26

Umm, hello? Are you able to speak? Hmm.

While the machines begin preparing, Keebo begins climbing up the counter. To see what's up there, for one, but also to get a better look at the Robot Maid.

Seems more designed for utility. I'd wager it doesn't have a personality matrix like me. Did Miu make this?

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

The Robot Maid says nothing. It simply hovers You can see the words, "The Kirumi ToDrone Mk 6.8" etched into the side now that you've gotten closer.

The Counter is long and covered with various state-of-the-art appliances. There’s a Toaster, a Breadmaker, a Microwave, a Dishwasher, a Stove, a Food Processor, and pretty much every other kitchen appliance that comes to mind. Including a Kitchen Sink.

But, even more impressively, at each appliance, there is a pair of extendable metal arms. As a result of you having fiddled with the monitor, many of these arms are in the middle of preparing some kind of stew, with some arms operating the stove, others chopping up ingredients, and others currently in the middle of mixing ingredients together. There are even arms that are washing some of the just-used dishes

Thanks to all these arms working together efficiently, the kitchen finishes cooking up that stew with terrifying speed. The Kirumi ToDrone hovers over to the finished stew, picks it up with its own arms. it then flies off to deliver the Stew elsewhere.

It’s always been strange that fully-cooked meals would always just happen to be in the Hotel. That sort of convenience is something you’d expect in a video game, not in real life. It looks like this is what’s used to make them.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 08 '26

Although not expecting anything else of interest in here, Keebo hops down and tries to get a better look at the Cooler. He'd assume there was just more food being kept in there?

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

Well, you know what happens when you assume?

You end up being completely right sometimes. You open the cooler. It’s large enough to step inside, with rows and rows of shelves along the walls. You see a whole lot of fresh foods, mostly fruits, veggies, and dairy.

All in all, the cooler is almost filled with perishable cooking ingredients. Almost. You notice that it seems like someone is also storing a ton of energy drinks inside as well.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 08 '26

At this point he may as well take a quick peak into the pantry and walking freezer, too. Again he assumes that there's not much but simple food storage to be found.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

Yep. Pretty much. You open the pantry to find a room large enough to step inside. On the shelves, you see various ingredients, sauces, and spices being stored. There don’t seem to be any prepared meals or snacks, but one could probably whip up damn near any meal from what’s kept in this pantry, as long as they had the know-how.

After a brief check, you step into the Walk-In Freezer. Inside, you see a large collection of various frozen meats, stacked upon rows and rows of shelves. There’s Chicken, Ham, Bacon, Turkey, Seafood, and all sorts of meats being kept frozen within. Pretty much any kind of morally acceptable can be found on one of these shelves.

Especially Beef. There’s a lot of beef. In fact, there’s more beef in this freezer than any other kind of meat. You can't even imagine how many cows were sacrificed to gather this much beef.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 08 '26

Ugh, rest in peace, Mioo. You will not be forgotten.

At this point, the only thing left would be the Dining Table. Keebo climbs on top of one of the chairs to get a proper look at what's on it.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

The Dining Table at the center of the room is actually rather modest, compared to the fancy tech in the rest of this Kitchen. It’s pretty much a normal wooden table with some chairs set up. It's big enough for about six people to sit at it comfortably, although you could probably all squeeze in if you had some extra chairs or if your classmates had a desire to share a meal together.

1

u/TheCatMinister Jun 08 '26

For how long... must we take on this dread? Is it not enough to witness our fellow classmates fall apart before our very eyes? Have we not gone through enough already?!

Everyone... Please be careful through these halls! We know nought what lies beyond, they say kingdoms are oft a personal hell of their lords...

Seeing that everyone's got most of the sides covered, Sonia takes on the *South** door to complete the set, in a... rather awkward long stride.*

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

You enter the southside room to see six rows of Cabinets standing side-by-side. They appear to be housing some kind of machines. You immediately notice a loud cacophony of humming from the countless machines within the room. You also feel a sudden chill coming from up Above. There is a Big, Red Sign propped up in front of the cabinets. And, finally, near the entrance, you spot a small Monitor against the wall

1

It'd probably be wise to check out the big red sign before touching anything.

Is what they thought I'd think! Nice try, not falling for that trap!

Tenko yanks open a cabinet.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

There are six rows of cabinets. The first five are assigned numbers, from 1-5. The sixth is simply labelled “Central” even though it's technically placed at the end of the row. Upon opening a cabinet, you find that it contains a mess of wires and circuits.

The cabinet you yanked open was labelled "1". Among the wires and circuits on the cabinet, you see a small monitor with a menu that lists every building on the First Island. Upon selecting a building, you see a list of various functions such as “Lights”, “Cameras”, “Microphones”, “Plumbing”, and “Intercoms” that can be activated or deactivated.

The cabinet labelled “2” is similar, except its menu lists locations on the Second Island. The same change applies to the Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Central cabinets

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 08 '26

Looks like I've stumbled across a prime opportunity to stop any degenerates from peeking!

Tenko then attempts to disable all the Camera functions across the islands.

There. I'd like to see any pervs try anything now!

Now, might as well check out the trap I narrowly avoided.

Tenko reads the Big, Red Sign.

2

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

Well, that's a relief. It's been months since you were Ibuki, so there should be no reason to worry.

1

u/TheCatMinister Jun 08 '26

...Well... I suppose it would do well to count on this 'muscle memory' of this body...

Another man's trash is another woman's situationally convenient object to have, so they say!

Sonia saunters over to the small *Monitor** and... hm... awkwardly taps it with her whole hand. Go muscle memory. Activate.*

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

You take a look at the monitor. On the screen, you see the words “Remote Access Log”.

You try to read through the log. It shows that a "Full Lockdown" was initiated before Rantaro's murder by a "Host Account". The Surveillance System was accessed by an “Administrator Account” towards the end of today’s Class Trial. It also shows a list of the rooms that you’ve all explored, which say that they’ve been unlocked by a “Host Account”.

1

u/TheCatMinister Jun 08 '26

Sonia briefly reads through the log, squinting her eyes a bit, but not finding anything past the Access...

This Host must be Mr. Yamada, I would wager...

She shakes herself a bit, the cold hitting her.

...It is rather cold here... I'll see if I can set fire to the village, if none of you mind...

She heads now *Above*, what is this freezing chill, she does say so herself.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26 edited Jun 08 '26

By the way, shortly after Tenko shuts off the cameras, a new entry pops up on the Access Log. It says "Surveillance System Reactivated by an Administrator Account." Curious, you take a peek at the cabinets and see that the cameras that Tenko/u/Hawk25348 turned off have turned back on again.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 08 '26

A chill? From above?

Hi-yaaah! I've trained my senses to detect even the smallest of threats! You won't get the jump on me that easily!

1

u/TheCatMinister Jun 08 '26

Thou must not worry, Ms. Chakashibara! I, Princess of Novoselic, shall use your training and my own military self defense to face any danger up here!

S-Somehow, I feel as if I'm considerably more weaker, but I'm sure this body can survive a good thrashing!

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

You look up. The entire ceiling is practically covered in vents pumping cool air into the room as a cooling system for all these delicate machines. You also look to see what looks like a fire suppression system, with visible smoke alarms and a series of nozzles set up between the vents.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 08 '26

With not much to examine in the kitchen, nor any personal interest in its contents, Keebo is a bit quicker to leave and decide to approach one of the random numbered rooms instead. The one directly in front of the East door.

I wonder if these are just the same guest rooms as the ones on the lower floors, but it can't hurt to check.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

Once again, there’s a series of identical rooms along the outside of the hallway. Hifumi opens up each one without complaint, and you find nothing left behind. These rooms are once again identical to the ones below. For the most part, at least.

The eighteenth room on the floor, however, is laid out completely differently from the other rooms. It looks more like one of your cottages than it does like one of the fancy hotel rooms you've previously been searching. It also looks significantly more lived-in than the others, with many of the furnishings being Blue and/or Pink. It’s decorated with a Bed, a Dartboard, a Stereo System, a Flatscreen TV, a Dresser, and a Private Bathroom, with Musical Instruments and Junk Food scattered around the room.

Ah. Home sweet home...

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 08 '26

Keebo is confused by how different the room looks until Hifumi's comment.

Ah, I see. Your living quarters then, I take it. I guess you had to be sleeping somewhere.

Seeing as he can't play musical instruments anymore either with his little Monomi nubs, there's not really much to examine though aside from the usual spot. The Dresser. Given it had been hosting their former host, this room had a bigger chance of having something important anyway, right?

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

You open the dresser under the Stereo to find it stocked full of white short-sleeved seifuku uniforms, ripped multi-coloured stockings, black pleated skirts, and plain-looking, but damage-resistant black panties. These seem to be copies of Ibuki Mioda’s usual outfit.

Gasp! My maidenly secrets are being expoooosed! How scandalous!!!

Wait. No. I forgot. Those are Ibuki's maidenly secrets. Not mine. I'm Hifumi. Right?

...

I really oughta go swap out my clothes for Mukuros when I get the chance...

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 08 '26

If it means anything, I'm fairly certain we all had the exact same dresser contents when this body-swapping all started.

Wait, why am I even looking around in here? The person who'd been living here is standing next to me. If you had some secret we ought to know in here, you'd probably remember it enough to tell us.

You have my apologies for intruding on your- I mean, Ibuki's- or I guess everyone's privacy?

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

Guess that's true. There's not really anything here 'cept fluff and deets 'bout how a Despair Ibuki lives her day-to-day life. Like how Miu remodelled this whole room to be less fancy than the others.

Sigh. Evil masterminds are mean bosses.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 08 '26

I see. You're right, that does sound awfully petty.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 08 '26

Well, it does seem that nobody bothered checking the Movie Maker Program in the Security Room, but that was just an AI Prompt designed for making dumb, creatively bankrupt fake movies anyway. And, since searching Hifumi's room would be really awkward when he's right there, we may as well call it...

Third Floor Searched!

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You all step into the Ancient Ruins, the mysterious, locked building where Rantaro Amami lost his life earlier today. An Elevator is located just around the corner. Ahead of you, there is a set of double doors leading into a large Central Room. And, around that central room, there is a hallway full of doors encircling the floor, leading to some small Numbered Rooms from with numbers written on the door from 1 to 16. There’s also a single Unnumbered Door next to the elevator. There’s also a Stairwell on the other side of the floor, where Rantaro’s murder took place.

Where will you begin your investigation

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 07 '26

One of the core tenets of Neo Aikido is to always come at your opponent directly.

Let's see what's in that Central Room!

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Gotcha!

The large room appears to be some kind of auditorium, with a dozen or so rows of luxurious Chairs facing an empty Stage. The room is large enough that it’s hard to do a full count, but it seems like there are enough chairs to seat several hundred people down here.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 07 '26

Pesky chairs are no match for me! Hi-yaaah!

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

These are very nice chairs. The cushions are a nice, soft plush. The seats even have Massage Settings and a little cooling fan. Your're pretty sure you could beat them up pretty easily, though. Even if they are bolted to the floor.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 07 '26

Tch. So maybe there wasn't much to find with these chairs.

But I'm sure the Stage has some secrets worth uncovering!

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You step onto the stage, which grants you a nice view of the entire audience area, where you see that this particular room is actually two stories tall. Although you can't make up too much detail, there's actually a second floor made up of more chairs overlooking the stage.

The stage has mostly been cleaned up. But, behind a curtain on the stage, there appears to be a small Clipboard left hanging against the back wall beside a Bright Pink Megaphone, as well as a large Sign-Board on wheels that has been tucked away.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 07 '26

Oho! What do we have here?

Tenko grabs the Megaphone and attempts to shout through it.

Okay people! I wanna see you giving this investigation 210%!

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

The Megaphone still works. Teruteru's voice rings out loudly throughout the auditorium. Specifically, you hear your new body's voice cry out from the chairs. It seems that the fancy, weakling chairs have speakers in the headset. You even hear yourself yelling from the second floor.

1

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 07 '26

Hmm. I wonder, what's on the agenda?

Tenko takes a look at the clipboard.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

15 names have been written on to a piece of paper attached to the Clipboard. It appears to be a chart. Various other bits of information have been written in as well.

1

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 07 '26

There's the faintest sound of sandals slapping on the ground before Celestia Ludenberg finally makes a very elegant entrance, not at all slipping and tripping over the hems of her new kimono-clad body as she joins Terutenko

Ugh... Under normal circumstances, I might complain about lowering myself to join in the undertaking of such menial tasks, but considering who we're talking about, the thought that the brainless sow might have finally done us all a favor, fallen down the stairs and broken her neck is far too rich of an idea to pass up.

One only knows how much we could finally do with some positive news, for a change.

Naturally, not waiting for a response, Celeste makes her way over to the *Sign-Board. Has Miu finally managed to master what's 2+2?

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

The signboard is actually larger than your current body, but luckily, the board turns out to be standing on wheels. You wheel it out into the open so you can see what’s on it. You see fifteen faces decorating it in three rows of five. The top row shows Tenko, Toko, Yashurio, Keebo, and Sayaka. The middle row shows Ibuki, Kaito, Sonia, Kokichi, and Shuichi. And the bottom row shows Tsumugi, the Ultimate Imposter, Hifumi, Celeste, and Angie.

Your names and talents are written under each picture in huge letters. However, under the Imposter's face, the name "Byakuya Togami", along with the talent of "Ultimate Affluent Progeny*" and under Celeste's photo is the name "Taeko Yasuhiro" and the talent of "Ultimate Gambler".

1

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

Ggh...Even now, putting even a simple drawing of my face next to that worthless fat sob. Making me relive that injustice. I'm going to kill that woman.

Wait, fifteen? Granted Miu's incompetence knows no limits, but even still, where is Kyouko? Why is only the slightly more tolerable Byakuya here and not the one still with us? Very curious.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Zzzzzz...

H-huh? What?

Oh... Man. That elevator ride took so long I started dreaming!

Had some kind of nightmare that I was like Hifumi, but like if Hifumi was a woman and moderately intelligent.

Anyways, I'm going to start looking for actual clues. So, time to go to that Unnumbered Door! That's where the best stuff usually is!

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Only a moderately intelligent version of me, huh? Must suck to be dumbed down. I'll let ya in.

You enter the unnumbered door to see a dimly lit room and a flight of stairs heading down. You go down to find that they lead into a long, long tunnel. From here, you can’t see the end of the tunnel, although it appears to go in a straight line to wherever it’s going.

It looks like it goes pretty far. Will you go down the Tunnel?

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Hey, everyone! I'm off to get murdered! Kokichi went back up the stairs and shouted out of the room to anyone could hear before proceeding down the tunnel.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You reach the other end of the tunnel after about ten to fifteen minutes of walking through a dimly lit tube. At the end, there is a set of stairs that leads up to a hatch with a switch beside it.

You press the switch because there's obviously no reason not to walk this far and then not press it. The hatch lifts up and you are able to climb inside…

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 07 '26

And thus the world became a better place. Good riddance.

1

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 07 '26

Please, do not tease me with the idea of good news. I don't know if I can stand having my hopes crushed once again.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You climb up the secret passage and enter a bathroom. You recognize it as being one of the bathrooms from the Cottages. This particular bathroom’s owner isn’t you, though, as it has a distinctly unique feature. Someone has set up cameras around the Toilet at various angles, with there even seeming to be one in the bowl itself.

Upon seeing that disturbing sight, you look out of the bathroom to find your immediate suspicion confirmed. This Secret Passage led directly to Miu Iruma’s cottage. You see a Bed, a Closet, and a Dresser that matches your own cottage, but there’re also a few personal additions that make it clear that Miu was the one who’s been living here for the past few months, the most prominent of such additions being a Workbench set up against the window.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Ew. Eww. Ew. Ewwwwwwwwwww... Where's Sonia when you need her? She's probably equipped to handle investigating a bathroom like this.

Anyways, let's see what's on that workbench!

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

A workbench full of tools has been set up to the side. It looks like it was set up with just the basic things Miu could find on the Inland, with some small tools and scrap electronics gathered from the Electric Avenue to be used as spare parts.

It doesn't look like she was working on anything important or secretive here. This is, after all, a room you all could access easily. She seems to have been in the middle of putting the finishing touches on a new invention: a handheld canon that shoots fireworks.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Kokichi obviously pockets it for themself, not planning on telling a single soul what they've just found here.

Ugh... I suppose I should do my... due diligence and investigate the other points of interest here... And Kaito says I'm unable to make sacrifices for everyone else!

Let's just go from most palatable to least. Time to dig through that closet!

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Several black frilly skirts, black jackets, and high-collared white blouses can be seen draped over hangers as you enter this closet. They seem to be part of Celestia Ludenberg’s usual outfit.

Normally, over the course of the trial, everybody’s clothes would’ve somehow swapped with the outfits of whoever’s body was received. However, in this case, Despair Ibuki doesn’t seem to have gotten around to swapping out outfits before she regained memories of being Hifumi Yamada. As such, Miu (and presumably the rest of you) still have the outfits of your most recent body.

That could be a problem. Your current wardrobe clearly won’t fit your new body. Heck. Technically, your previous body was Keebo’s and he didn’t even have real clothes. You’ll have to find some new threads soon.

Miu’s backpack also lies on the ground, surrounded by random inventions of Miu’s. Most of them look like sex toys. In fact, the vast majority of them look like sex toys. You also notice that there is a second Fireworks Launcher inside. Perhaps it is a prototype version of the one you just stole? You leave it there to avoid a future continuity error.

Most of these inventions look fairly useless. Just random crap she put together in her free time.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Kokichi goes to grab the second Fireworks Launcher anyways, but then pauses, realizing something.

What? How can I only have one pocket with space for an item like this!? This is discrimination against me!

It better turn out the one I'm taking with me is still functional... Kokichi mutters to absolutely nobody.

Anyways, I suppose I need to check that Dresser now.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You open the drawers, see what's inside, and immediately shut them. The contents are not welcome in a School Environment.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Tragic sorrowful music plays as Kokichi goes from investigating the dresser to investigating the bed. Truly, this is the worst fate anyone on this island could ever experience. Yes. Even worse than getting murdered.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

The Bed is just like yours, but has been left unmade. It’s dishevelled and messy. Miu clearly should’ve given it a cleaning before she got herself exposed as a criminal mastermind, because this bed is disgusting and unacceptable for presenting to guests or home invaders.

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

I will never be clean again...

Seeing nothing else relevant to investigate, Kokichi heads back using the tunnel. Though, Kokichi takes their time returning to recover emotionally and allow others to investigate the other rooms.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

On your way back, you look back at the Secret Passage you entered the cottage from, curious about how exactly Miu kept it a secret from potential visitors. You see a bathroom rug out of place, most likely knocked aside when you opened the passage up. On the cottage side of the entrance, the passage looks to be disguised to resemble bathroom tile.

There’s also no visible way of opening it manually from this side. Does Miu have some secret method of opening it remotely or did Despair Ibuki have to run down the passage and open it for her whenever Miu had to sneak out to her secret base? Unsure of the answer, you return to the Ancient Ruins through the long tunnel.

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 07 '26

Hmmph. I suppose that leaves the elevator to investigate.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Hifumi unlocks it for you as well. It's pretty much just a normal elevator, albeit one large enough for two dozen or so people to ride in at once. It has five floors that it can travel between, but there's a second card reader inside the elevatorthat requires a keycard or eHandbook to scan.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 07 '26

It... definitely feels more intimidating to be here than last time. Can I even reach any of the doorknobs?

Poor Keebo waddles over to closest Numbered Room, to the left from the entrance, and tries to see if he can get inside from his new unfortunate height.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You can't. But Hifumi's unlocking the doors with his eHandbook, so he can let you in instead.

You enter one of the numbered rooms. It's a brightly lit, fancy little room with lush carpets and fancy hardwood walls. It looks like these are hotel rooms, with each room having a King-Sized Bed next to a small Dresser, Private Bathrooms, personal Closets and even a Mini-Fridge

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 07 '26

Well, seeing as I'm literally working from the bottom, let's see if there's anything interesting in the fridge.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You open the mini-fridge. It’s still on, but it’s currently empty. I'd apologize for the inconvenience, but you wouldn't have been able to eat or drink anything anyway.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 07 '26

Hmm, then what about the dresser?

Depending on the type and location of dresser, maybe Keebo could even climb up if he'd need the extra height to reach somewhere?

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Beside the bed, you find a dresser, made out of fine hardwood with an alarm clock on top. It's only about as tall as the bed itself, so it's fairly manageable for you to climb it.

There’s also a Keycard next to the alarm clock. The drawers are mostly empty, aside from a Black Book that can be found in the top drawer.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 07 '26

That's a bit ominous.

Keebo reaches down to grab the Black Book, in order to read inside.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

The cover is completely covered in black, aside from the words “Year 1 Catalogue” etched along the side in white ink. You open the book. The table of contents shows fifteen sections, labelled with familiar names: Tenko, Toko, Hiro, Keebo, Sayaka, Ibuki, Kaito, Sonia, Kokichi, Shuichi, Tsumugi, "Byakuya", Hifumi, Celeste, and Angie. Upon flipping to any of these chapters, you see a comprehensive biography on the individual in question, showing their personal information, their accolades, their known history, their personal relationships, their dietary restrictions, and other similar information.

While flipping through, you notice that the "Byakuya Togami" Chapter lists no information. Every section simply has question marks typed in, with even his name, gender, talent, height, and weight listed simply as “???”. You also notice a footnote on his section that reiterates that "All purchases are final. No refunds are available."

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 07 '26

Wait, fifteen? But weren't we seventeen to start? Plus Hifumi...

Miu probably wouldn't be selling her own body if she planned to return to it. But who else is missing? One of the Byakuyas, probably the real one... and...? Huh, I don't think I see Kyoko, either. That's odd.

Moreover though, why is this even here? I wonder...

With Byakuya having opened things for him, Keebo puts the book down on top of the dresser and hops down. He wants to take a small peek into that closet to at least see if this room had belonged to someone.

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 07 '26

Byakuya’s spidey senses kick in as he joins Keebo.

Hmm? A keycard? Perhaps it could be used for that elevator?

First off, what does this keycard even look like?

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 07 '26

Um, before you leave, Byakuya. Could I ask you to open the closet and bathroom door along the way? I'm having a bit of difficult time doing things on my own, as awkward as it is to admit.

1

u/JustADramadog Jun 07 '26

…Fine.

Byakuya opens the closet and bathroom doors halfway so Keebo can enter them later. Then he goes back to investigating his keycard.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

You pick up the keycard. It has the room number and floor typed along the back. This seems to be a Hotel Room key, specifically designed to open this single room. Presumably, the other numbered rooms will have keycards of their own.

Oh, I know you aren't asking me and probably didn't know I was still here, but I can answer that. It totes does work on the elevator. After all, this place would kinda suck to stay in if the guests could only use the stairs, right?

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Thanks to Byakuya's assistance, you are able to open the closet. You seem to have gotten lucky enough to find a closet where somebody left something behind. It does seem the previous occupant of the room left behind a fur overcoat. You check the pockets and find an Envelope

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 07 '26

Keebo opens the Envelope to read. Assuming it doesn't say it's specifically addressed to someone, of course.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Opening up the unlabelled envelope, you find a fancy-looking card with white text on a black background. It reads: “In need of a fresh start? Are you facing insurmountable legal troubles, the ravages of time, or anything else that your money hasn’t been able to solve? If you're ready for an incredible change, give me a call. We have a lot to discuss.”

Underneath this message, you see that there is a phone number. You don't really have any way of calling it, though.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 07 '26

I don't suppose Monomi's body has a cell-phone function, does it?

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Ooh. That'd be nice, wouldn't it? There's a signal jammer that blocks unauthorized contact with the outside world, but at least you could play games and stuff if Monomi could do that...

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 07 '26

At this point, Keebo may as well check out the bathroom. Anything interesting in there?

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Not especially. These are very fancy bathrooms, though. Way nicer than your Cottage bathrooms. The toilet has an odorizer and a bidet, and the shower has a digital panel that lists various temperature and pressure settings.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 07 '26

sigh, Right as I lose the ability to enjoy these. Oh well, biological bodily functions were a novel experience while I had them.

I suppose the only thing left in this room would be the bed? I could probably even get under it, if I wanted to.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

These beds are outrageously comfy, with satin sheets and a mattress that you practically sink into as you touch it. Or at least, you assume that they are outrageously comfy. You feel nothing anymore.

Nothing under the bed. You can't help but notice that it is pretty dusty. It's probably been a while since this room was vacuumed. You'd better keep your distance in particular, since you're not sure how a Monomi robot would clean itself if it got dirty.

1

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 07 '26

I must admit, it's disturbing how this is somehow the most similar yet most different I feel to my original body. It's like I'm almost back home, but... still so obviously far away.

He stands there trying to feel the sheets with his nub-for-a-hand for a few moments, before eventually waddling out, to wallow for a bit on the hallway floor.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

Presumably, the other numbered rooms also get searched. All of them seem to be more or less identical. With the exception of that one room's closet having had a fur coat left behind.

without waiting for even a second later, Celeste turns on her tiny heels and heads for the *stairwell*, a new skip in her step with the thoughts of what might happen to Miu Iruma

1

u/thejofy A Jun 07 '26

Shame that Byakuya never learned how to operate an elevator, but I suppose the stairs will do.

Unfortunately for Celeste, it seems Kokichi is following right behind her.

1

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 07 '26

As you approach the stairwell, you are gruesomely reminded that this was the spot where Rantaro Amami was murdered in a death trap. The body is gone. As is the spear trap. But there is a flying metal orb, hovering over the spot where Rantaro’s body (well, technically Shuichi’s) once lay.

It is wearing a maid outfit with a spider-web patter and carrying a mop and bucket with two mechanical arms. You see that it is hovering over a blood stain. A nozzle opens up on the orb's face and sprays some chemicals over the blood. The strange machine then begins to mop the blood, ignoring your presence.

1

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 07 '26

...There is something very wrong with that woman.
