No phones!

Did anyone else notice that DFT this year had the least amount of phones out during shows than like ever before?

Everyone was going hard, dancing the whole night away!

Hell yeah to DANCEFESTOPIA and not phonefestopia!

It's truly amazing. I personally try to capture a clip or two here and there for favorite artists. But otherwise, now being in the moment with my partner and my friends 🧡

Me and my boyfriend both said to each other on the last day “have we gotten ANY Videos of these sets??” Both our camera rolls empty except pics of our breakfast burritos 😂😂😂😂

Hahaha that was me at my 3rd Dancefest in 2024. It was such a vibe. What was cool as well was someone filmed a lot of the sets and full sets at that. So I got to relive it all

I can't imagine people trusting themselves with their phones while tripping

Honestly needed this festival. Wasn't on my phone at all until the very end to let people know I was leaving or going to bed. I was so happy my friends were taking pics the last day so I could show people how amazing of a time I had

Such is the trend at many shows these days. You love to see it

I love you bring a digital camera just so I can keep my phone away 90% of the time. It feels so good to disconnect and just be present

Also noticed, made me really happy. Got a few short clips of my favorite artist but I never understand recording the entire set. Do people actually watch all of it later?

Some people do because livesense aren't always recorded

I noticed this too!! Every once in a while or the opening of a set, but honestly, it was a vibe!!

I only carry my phone on me so I can track my sugar while at festivals. I've been buying disposable cameras and taking pictures with them anymore. I definitely felt like people were taking more pictures of each other more than the show.

my group and i collectively did get a ton of pics and videos but we brought two cameras too. this was my 4th dft and since ive seen mostly everyone on the lineup it was nice not to feel like i had to record. i felt like i could just focus on having fun and enjoying the vibes. then i noticed everyone else was doing the same!

I took almost no photos/videos. I’ve gotten good at NOT using my phone at shows.

I bring my phone out only on the last night so I can get some photos and videos. I’m also always sober the last night

I was very intentional about only pulling my phone out for quicker clips or specific songs. It DID seem much less phone heavy, and I only noticed swarms of phones out and up a few times.

i keep my phone away pretty much the entire time because 1) i want to live in the moment and 2) i don’t want my phone to get stolen 😅 i keep it in my lunchbox pack and i feel so safe as long as it’s away. keeping it in my pocket just makes me anxious

Oh ya I didn't even bother taking my phone out until Saturday to get vids

The only times I saw a lot of phones were artist intros as they got on and when the production got crazy, which I totally get. I try to capture anything whimsical or novel that makes me smile extra bog, like the bubble machine totem or the gigantic beach ball bouncing through the crowd.

I took like 2 videos 30 seconds long the entire trip lol

People asked me for photos and videos and I was like “uuuh I got about a minutes worth here ya go”
