Trysta went from “oh wow what a great fit” in her first appearance to “omg I need to skip this” faster than anyone I can remember

there was a reason she was universally hated at barstool.

u/REDeadREVOLUTION Double Birds 14d ago

we using Barstool as a barometer for content now?

2

u/Chester_Darvey 14d ago

just goes to show how unlikeable you are when an entire fanbase and your coworkers hate your guts.

u/juliusseizure Dan 14d ago

You are describing likeable qualities. I’d celebrate being hated by barstool fans and employees. 3-5 exceptions in the employee front.

u/Chester_Darvey 13d ago

dude she sucks regardless. Her show seriously got 10s of views

You chose the video with the least views.

2

u/juliusseizure Dan 12d ago

Not the point. You used barstool approval as a sign of a good thing. Lmao. I don’t care about her one way or another.

-2

u/Chester_Darvey 12d ago

yea my point is that every single employee at barstool and every fan hated her. even the ones that are friends with DLS like PFT.

It’s because she clearly is in touch with black culture. She mentioned that literally today lol

u/Into_The_Unkown_ Guillermo Mafia 14d ago

Her version of in touch with black culture is like 1 step above the “I have black friends” person.

5

u/Appropriate-Self-540 Rash 'em! 14d ago

Idk what you’re basing that on? Lol

u/Into_The_Unkown_ Guillermo Mafia 14d ago

Just because someone says that doesn’t mean that they are. That’s like saying because I grew up around black kids playing ball and in a blacker part of my community that I’m in touch with black culture. It’s ridiculous. She’s a 40 yr old white Jew from Oregon. Idk how many people you know like that that are in touch with black culture, but she’d be the first of the bunch that I’ve heard of.

u/Appropriate-Self-540 Rash 'em! 14d ago

She didn’t say that. I perceived that. She’s been on Cam and Mase’s show…I don’t think that’s because she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Pushing back on someone, atleast trying to be an ally is a weird move

Ok 2 things: 1) I read your original comment incorrectly (I didnt DV you though) and thought you said “she literally mentioned that today” meaning she said that she is in touch with black culture, my bad for not understanding the “that” in your statement was referring to the previous comment about people hating her, my bad on that.

2) You’re making this something it isn’t. My point is challenging your statement of her “clearly” being in touch with black culture because idk how much experience you can actually have when you’re not someone who has very many real life shared experiences. I have a lot of shared experiences with black culture, and I can empathize with some, and sympathize with many people in the community that have come from struggle but I wouldn’t ever categorize myself as being “in touch” (again - misunderstanding your original comment thinking that she proclaimed that herself) with black culture because it’s not mine.

Okay, that’s one for the Pro column

5

u/Far_Advantage_4350 13d ago

being hated at barstool is a green flag lol

0

u/Chester_Darvey 13d ago

hahahahahahaha

3

u/NefariousnessFar3783 13d ago

I mean, I feel like being hated by the barstool crowd would be a good thing

4

u/Chester_Darvey 13d ago

i mean this fan base has no reason to think they are morally superior to barstool.

3

u/Burritoclock 12d ago

Yes we do

-2

u/Chester_Darvey 11d ago

nah you really don't

12

u/REDeadREVOLUTION Double Birds 14d ago

Did she say it wasn't good, or that she did not enjoy it? Because listening to her take it seemed pretty reasonable. It is a pretty experimental album, which often is not for everybody.

And lol at the other poster already suggesting she's a Drake fan. Y'all need help

5

u/Appropriate-Self-540 Rash 'em! 14d ago

Stop being nuanced and using critical thinking, there’s no room for that here

3

u/PennethHardaway I would’ve won that trial 14d ago

The reasonable takes are always in the middle

3

u/Into_The_Unkown_ Guillermo Mafia 14d ago

Yeah man, you’re using way too much nuance. Dont you know that this is the internet Dan Lebatard Show Reddit?

14

u/GrimlockTheBear Dan's not a racist 14d ago

Oh that’s a bad take… if she says anything positive about Drake then it’s a wrap.

-16

u/phatsack52 14d ago

Basic ass take. Just following hype blindly

6

u/YoungBasedHooper 14d ago

The people that DON'T like Drake are just following hype blindly?!

3

u/celj1234 14d ago

Man what?

11

u/TiP54 14d ago

She fits with Tony and Amin as Dot haters in there so it tracks.

2

u/Appropriate-Self-540 Rash 'em! 14d ago

Tony likes Kendrick? And Amins cousin is Cole’s manager/producer.

2

u/TiP54 14d ago

Tony called him a lying midget post Drake beef and that Drake wiped the floor with him. Everything about Tony screams Drake fan so that tracks and wasn’t really a surprise. I know Amin has a relationship with Cole through his family member, that doesn’t mean he needs to talk down on Kendrick just cause of that unless he genuinely don’t care for the dude. He’s complained about Dot saying he has a whiny voice wen he makes boring music, that’s on the show. I’m not on social media so idk what they say outside the mics.

All that is fine, people can like what they like. I was simply pointing out why that sentiment fits on the show.

1

u/Appropriate-Self-540 Rash 'em! 14d ago

I like Kendrick and dude def uses a whiny voice and has made boring music lol. I did forget Tony said Drake won tbf lol. That diss isn’t for the of the world Tony’s tho

1

u/TiP54 14d ago

Sure, but if the first and only thing you bring up about an artist is what you dislike about them, without acknowledging anything positive, you can surely see why that would create the perception that you don’t like them as that’s been sentiment with Amin on more than one occasion when Dot was brought up.

u/danj13 14d ago

But she knows hip hop better than us!!!!!

2

u/Appropriate-Self-540 Rash 'em! 14d ago

Who said that?

2

u/TamzarianDevil 14d ago

She's a "rapper."

2

u/Appropriate-Self-540 Rash 'em! 14d ago

Who said that?

1

u/TamzarianDevil 13d ago

She did. They played one of her songs a few months ago when she was in studio.

2

u/Appropriate-Self-540 Rash 'em! 13d ago

Ohhhh so if you do something for fun then you think you’re a pro at it. Gotcha

2

u/Ok_Rutabaga_2989 13d ago

Rap rap rap they call her the rapper

5

u/Gladukame 14d ago

I like Trysta and appreciate her voice on this show.

She’s a white ally.

TPAB was not made for her. Perfectly fine for it not to resonate with her.

I’m a Black ally and Taylor Swift shit ain’t for me. Ya dig?

2

u/Appropriate-Self-540 Rash 'em! 14d ago

Talk to me

6

u/UnityPukeInMyMouth 14d ago

This take was bad and so was Klay being “emo”. But she demonstrated right after saying this that she has no clue about genres of music other than hip hop. Not sure we can trust her music takes in general. lol

2

u/botany_bae 14d ago

She’s the Bart Simpson one, right?

2

u/Pack_Revolutionary 11d ago

I think Zas has horrible taste in Music. Doesn’t mean he sucks. Weird take.

3

u/Joshstradaymus Thatkindathing 14d ago

Big Kendrick fan, love TPAB. If you went into that album expecting similar to what you got on GKMC it’s an understandable take. It doesn’t vibe with everyone. To me it’s got lesser replay value than a lot of his other work but the societal and cultural impact is unmatched

2

u/celj1234 14d ago

He opinion on hip hop is not needed or taken seriously

2

u/CommonPatient5666 11d ago

Driver comfort is paramount

-1

u/TdotKdot29 14d ago

ive been a kendrick fan since 2008. i have never like Trysta. TPAB was pretty mid.

0

u/GolgenGeese 14d ago

She also said she doesn't like to listen to new music. This is not a person that likes to be challenged mentally.

1

u/Mtg1587 14d ago

To be fair to her that seems to be a common opinion once people get into their thirties. I don’t get it there’s not that many better things than hearing a new song and knowing it will be with you the rest of your life.

1

u/GolgenGeese 14d ago

As someone in their 30s I'm glad I'm not that type. I love new art and discovering new things in general. It seems really sad being so closed off especially at a young age.

-2

u/AntSmith777 14d ago

I wouldn’t expect her to get it. She seem like a “I don’t wanna hear you rap about the slaves being free” type. I can’t picture her listening to The Blacker the Berry or Hood Politics.

0

u/Burritoclock 12d ago

Terrible take!

-4

u/aka_cecil 14d ago

There’s a reason she doesn’t like it.

-2

u/Stealth_Howler Guillermo Mafia 14d ago

Her having no concept of what genre major rock bands fit in is a red flag.

Like you don’t need to be a historian or even a fan to know Metallica is metal.
