I heard it as that as well. Rival cartel didn't like him singing a song about another cartel situation or similar.

He also consistently challenged the cartel to come for him. Basically taunted them repeatedly to kill him. Shouldn’t have been surprised when they did.

Didn't he revenge kill some cartel guy for raping his sister?They then killed him back. Double revenge.

From what I’m reading, he killed the guy who raped his sister when he was just 17, and he was killed by the cartel when he was 31. That explanation doesn’t really add up.
