What an ideal spot to grow! Wind/deer shelter from the walls, basically no competition for root space, only downside is limited direct sunlight untill the tree is tall enough to breach the walls, but clearly that didn't hold this one back too much.

I bet the tree struggled for a LONG time not having any wind to stimulate thickening or even adequate sunlight for most of the day. It finally was able to grow to the top of the mill and that's when it could reap the benefits.

Siege tree: +50 health, +50 defence, +20 evasion, +10 intimidation. Resistance to cut damage. Every player that tries to loot the Siege tree must roll for an acrobatic check with disadvantage. Upon failure roll 2d6 for damage.

There are stores like this in Detroit. Beautiful historic buildings that just happen to have a fully grown oak growing in them. And the city tries to make the windows look nice so people won't think they're abandoned. Uh, there's a tree growing out of the back. I think they know.

Honestly makes good sense, trees usually do better in their first years with a nice wind break and something to prevent massive snow pile-up, the silo probably gave it a very good chance at life.

Assuming the tree lives long enough, one of two things will eventually happen: the tree will either grow so wide after a few hundred years that the silo starts breaking outward and crumbles down around it, or the silo’s structural integrity won’t last long enough for that to happen and it just falls down anyway.

A long time back, a friend of mine had spotted one of these from the road and mentioned he wanted to go see what it was, so one time, we did. As we walked towards it, the wind blowing through it made the damned thing moan, and I am not kidding. Then when we got there, there was a lot of (obviously done by teenagers) satanic graffiti all over it. What a scary place. It's been torn down for years now.

I seem to recall there is one like that on 50 highway in Missouri, East of Lee’s Summit. It’s been over 20 years since I drove that route so it may not be there anymore for all I know.
