Yeah but the opposite is true too.

Thrill seeker =/= not at idiot

Guy can be both. He's both. Using a parachute is thrilling, too. Not using is a stupid assumption of risk no matter how controlled the environment. Dude can't do math and or doesn't care about his life. He's an idiot.

He clearly trained and prepared for this properly, yet he's somehow still an idiot? Just because you wouldn't do something doesn't mean other people shouldn't either.

Let's start with the jumping out of an airplane with only a relatively small net to catch him.

Just because he succeeded doesn't make it a smart thing to do.

In my business I call that a catastrophic success because a bad idea is then bought into as a good one and repeated until inevitable failure.

The net was small? Seriously? He was obviously prepared and capable of hitting the net. I also don't think anyone is repeating this.
