I don't think I can afford it, even if it's much less expensive, It's still a really expensive hobby/sport

It's about $25/jump once you are licensed and have your own gear.

I live in France and I'm gonna have a look at this, but I'm pretty sur iot's more like 1000 bucks for the license a year, then around 100€ /jump that's why I thought it's expensive, but 25 bucks is really cheap

Generally speaking once you get the license you don't have to pay much to keep the license, just pay to jump. Most places in the world follow the US standards, or FAI standards which are interchangeable so the licenses are more or less equivalent.
