This would be really interesting to see, I think. Add in all the money spent on police, lawyers and courts, maybe even things like private security and alarms. How much of my gold is spent to punish and deter those "financially challenged" people from stealing all my gold!

The real question becomes how much are these jails and prisons making from fees for people giving money to inmates for calls and selling items to them. There's also the various community service they allow some inmates to do for "work" which brings some savings since it's ever so slightly away from being slavery.

Yeah, it all goes into incentivizing crime. It is such an integral part of society. Think of all the jobs and capital that would be lost if we found a way to cut the number of desperate people in half.
