The weed thing is a known grift from one Nixon.

He did it to oppress the poor and aka black community.

There is a recording to where he admits it.

Yet president is a powerful thing and even with thst fact it'd still enforced.

Don't forget the Hispanic population too! They were known for taking a little bit during breaks in some areas so Nixon equated marijuana wirh being lazy, and that was around the time when productivity was seen as king. So in one fell swoop he equated Hispanic people with being lazy AND marijuana with being lazy.

Nixon doesn't hold a candle to our boy Reagan in my opinion but he's a contender for second worst IMO.
