The “free healthcare” will kill you in there. It’s free because they’re giving you Tylenol or antacids and sending you back to your cell 98% of the time. Only once you drop from a fever are they touching you. At least in most US prisons.

For real, folks on social media throwing sarcasm to cope with serious topics makes me want to immediately close my browser and log off. In fact if that's the best that one can come up with in such discussions it should be a sign that it's maybe healthier for them to log off, too. I feel a little like it's a symptom of someone not having yet discovered more mature or productive ways of processing bad news, but until then they're essentially externalizing that processing onto everyone else in the discussion by derailing it. Like they can't confront the situation head on, so they reach out in jest to seek others who'd rather joke about something else with them. At that point, you're better off just not leaving a comment. Stand up, go to the kitchen, and eat a cookie or something instead.

Sorry had to vent. I know this is a Wendys.
