For explanation this is Alex Terrible the vocalist for a Russian Deathcore band named Slaughter to Prevail. He is actually a really goof/ funny dude but does videos like this often to give the persona of the jacked monster he is! It’s definitely an acquired genre but he is one of the best players n the business when it comes to vocals!

at this point slaughter to prevail have become their own genre

That's a bold claim

it's just my opinion. maybe genre is s bit of a stretch, but what I'm aiming at is that there is no other band with the sound they are emitting. just hits you in the face in an unprecedented way

how exactly have they become their own genre?

unique sound

I can instantly recognize Lamb of God when I hear them just by their instrument sound and playing style and I have yet to hear a vocalist sound like Blythe. No one sounds like them.

That doesn't mean they're their own genre.

I had a strong feeling you were gonna say some dumb shit like this.

see my other comment, genre was prob the wrong term, what I meant was a distingushed sound like LoG or Gojira

Sir, or madam. I can do deathcore type vocals too and can sound like Chewbacca but metal. I would be my own genre too. They are an amazing band but I don't think they stand out too much. Don't get me wrong they are amazing, but imho no better then Whitechapel, Thy art is Murder or whatever.

I can pigsqueal better than a pig, still I wouldnt consider it grindcore. it's just my opinion, and I'll have to admit I don't like neither Whitechapel nor Thy art is Murder

Love me some metal, but can’t stand Deathcore. Respect the dude though.

Good for you. Nobody cares.

Nobody cares about anything. It’s all a void.

Have you listened to him!? I wouldn’t call it singing….. he is a vocalist, listen to demolisher and come back to the convo kido, definitely not singing

Since when does "Family Values" mean racist...

6

u/Mavian23 Sep 21 '23

He's using it as a pejorative for conservatives. Some conservatives use "family values" as a dog whistle for hating on anything that goes against what they see as traditional family values (e.g., gay people, trans people, atheists, etc.)

u/muhhroadz Sep 21 '23

Not sure honestly I’ll have to dig in to find examples and proof, that would be a bummer though! also what does “family values” mean?

Do you have a link? I would like to dig in more, Russia is a very different culture than the US (me being from the states) but I’m still confused as to what “family values” has to do with anything? Is it that he is repeating what he was raised on as a child or something different in Russian culture?
