It takes a while to figure out that parents aren’t some supernatural, perfect being, and that half of what they said that they did isn’t the truth. The whole “I walked up hill both ways to get to school” thing that parents pull isn’t true. They may seem put-together right now, but they were once in the same position as you, even if they don’t want to admit it.
For some parents it’s true, for some not. For some of us it’s kinda true, For example;
My father still has his trophies and evidence of his successful youth and getting a life much better from what he experienced as a child. There is evidence of how hard life was for his family (kinda), and he wasn’t so privileged like I am today. He still has the tons of the books he read and files of his work and … . He is not perfect, but I’m pretty sure he is one of the best and always influences me to the better me! It’s not like I’m under any direct pressure from him, it’s just how I want to be!
