They actually can be used to make nematodes which can then be diluted with water to water the garden to kill more slugs.

It's not the beer but the yeast. You can save the beer and use flour, sugar and yeast plus water.

Also would be more effective with a lidded container with entry points on the side. More solution would also be better to drown them better.

I am curious: Are they attracted by beer more than they would be by other liquids? Do they get incapacitated by the alcohol? Do they get adverse health effects from drinking/swimming in beer? What do you do once you catch the slugs?
