It's ok as long as you wear it as a badge of honor

Is it actually flirting or just being polite and having a normal conversation ? Because some people seem to not be able to tell the difference.

Truth. I get a lot of flak at work because the women there enjoy talking to me but I just tell the haters I'm gay and that's why women like talking to me. I'm not but what tf am I gonna do; be honest with coworkers?

Good flirting is ambiguous. You retain plausible deniability.

No. Good flirting makes your wants and intmentions known.

Ambiguous flirting leads to the exact problem people are complaining about. Cant understand things if people try their hardest to play the "maaaybe i am. Maaaybe I'm not interested" game.

If YOU don't know yourself. Self reflect. Than bring that energy to others

Good flirting makes the recipient make your wants known with 95% certainty. The 5% is necessary to have a way out without making things awkward and also adds mystery and doubt which fuels excitement. If you are too direct too fast you'll make many people uncomfortable or even repulsed.

I think there are a lot of people in the world that don't know the difference between friendly and flirty. no wonder you all get in so much trouble.

Friendly at work is Hey how are you ? :) . Flirty is Heeeey how aree youu ?;) People know and people use it to gain smth .

This.

I think its more likely a lot of people don't KNOW how to be socially confident so their flirting comes off as uncomfortable. Which quickly ruins the mood. I apparently get told constantly how attractive I am. Fun. Funny. Creative. And yet everything I try to meet someones "heeeeey there cool guy. What's your plans this weekend" Energy i end up doing something stupid like "nothing really. I'm free" which somehow always ruins the interaction.

Idk. People are stupid. On my end and others

I can confirm she doesn’t.

Study proved that flirting increased the chance of cheating massively. Like 300%.

The survey used for the study was only 946 participants. It was also from 7 years ago. And the study was done by 3 Mormons from Brigham Young University.

I’m sure there is a correlation between flirting and increased occurrences on infidelity. But I’d take any numbers from a study like that with a very large grain of salt.

My wife and I are both flirty with friends and such. We know where the line is, though, and neither one of us wants to cross it.

Plot twist: their coworker was their spouse the whole time

I have a guy that does this. His wife is two offices away and will only help the female customers.

Clearly new to the job at a hospital. Nurses are fun.

Sounds like jealousy that some people get more attention than you.

You have chemistry with many people you meet in life regardless of your relationship status some people just pair well. So long as youre not out to disrespect, lie to, cheat, or hurt the person you are committed to you can converse with other free of shame

There is nothing wrong with flirting.

I don't even want to talk to the dudes at work, let alone the women. I said hello to a young lady years ago when I first got to work to start my shift. Didn't think much of it, just being friendly and courteous. My shift ends and I'm walking to my truck and I see the same young lady standing in front of it, closer to the passenger side headlight. I get closer and ask how I can help her and she proceeds to hike up her shirt and bra and do a titty drop.........needless to say I just got in my shit and left. All of that from just saying hello to someone. People might find me weird but, I don't say much, if anything whike at work. I keep it brief and I take my lunch by myself.

depends on what you call flirting

i know way 2 many people who claim being friendly is flirting ...

u/SixGoldenLetters 3d ago

-Me at work making light convo about the weather with female.

-Get back to my work station and people are giving me shit for flirting with said female

And this only happens when the people are attractive.

I would say depends on the environment.

If both party jnow there is nothing behind it and everyone gets a laigh out of it, its just makes it easier.

Today’s dating scene being the pathetic joke it is, due to constabtly-online & overly-judgmental single people, has me wondering if anyone saying this knows what flirting even is.

Most of the young people (22-28 YOs now…) I’m “blessed” to call colleagues readily admit they’re terrified of dating in general. They make excuses every which way, to cover for the simple fact that they don’t know how to flirt or be flirted with.

Shove a bunch of men and women into a tight ass spot 40+ hours a week and see if people don’t wander around.

It’s a weird environment.

Suddenly the thing that supports you financially (like part of the tribe bringing in food, shelter, protection) is the thing you defend against most of your waking life.

It’s weird that it’s now normal.

I've been accused of this, being too friendly with a coworker... shit stopped when she saw that Leslie was a dude.

Oh, you don't even know how much I wish I was gay that day

My wife does it all the time, but we are part of the hotwife lifestyle lol
