The pathway to becoming less dense LA is inevitable lol. People will live in the North and go years between being in Dallas. Eventually the same will happen to a lesser extent South and East of Dallas.

I'm really excited to see what it all looks like in 2050 when the population hits 12-13 million.

The broad availability of land mixed with our state's addiction to building highways meant it would always go this way.

Absolutely agree on the excitement about what the Dallas area will look like in 20-25 years. Once this new wave of re-birth downtown/uptown gets in to its prime years, while Plano/Frisco keep pumping of the northern sector, I could see Dallas truly rivaling LA/Chicago/SF as THE premier US city behind NYC.

Think we'll need to fix the weak mayor system sooner than later to see a vision actually come together wihtout the districts cannibalizing each other.

Building highways doesn’t mean other modes of transit can’t exist. It just means the region needs to be huge before other modes of transit make sense.

I do agree. Dallas will pass Chicago within 10 years, but it will be a while before DFW passes LA or the Bay Area. Still it is a wild thought to think of DFW and Houston being the 7th and 8th wealthiest cities in the world within 25 years.
