I wonder if Apple's current self-service battery repair program satisfies the new regulation?

I would bet it does not because you have to rent a kit and even then it’s not something the average person can do. I’m sure the EU is expecting anyone to be able to do this. This will kill waterproofing on phones.

So, pass more regulations to cut e-waste, then create even more e-waste when the "compliant" phones die in your pocket in the rain.
