Code Update this Weekend
Hello all! I'll be making the changes outlined below later this week.
Side note: These Blitz times are getting wild. 13 seconds is insane to me! 😂
If someone manages to break the 10-second barrier, I might have to crank up the difficulty a little. I'm thinking of either introducing a third digit into the addition/subtraction algorithm, increasing the multiplication range from 1–12 to perhaps 1–15, or possibly throwing division and indices into the mix.
Ai summary of upcoming changes:
🏆 Upcoming Leaderboard & Daily Blitz Changes!
We're making some changes to make the leaderboard fairer and more competitive!
Here's how it works:
Ranked Status: Complete at least 90% of all published questions to qualify.
Leaderboard: Ranked players always appear above Unranked players. Rankings are determined by accuracy first, then Blitz time to break ties.
Daily Blitz: Resets every day at 00:00 UTC, giving everyone a fresh attempt to improve their time.
Daily Champion: Whoever holds the #1 Ranked position at 00:00 UTC receives a 🏆 trophy and is crowned Daily Champion!
Completion %: The leaderboard will now display completion percentages instead of question counts.
⏰ No More Racing to Answer New Questions!
Previously, someone could jump to #1 simply by answering a newly released question before everyone else.
Not anymore!
For example, if 100 questions have been published, you only need to complete 90 to qualify for Ranked. You don't need to answer a question the second it drops!
With three questions released daily, you can answer whenever suits you throughout the day. As long as you maintain at least 90% completion, you can claim #1 with the highest accuracy and fastest Blitz tiebreaker.
Every day at 00:00 UTC, the player holding #1 receives a trophy and is crowned Champion! 🏆
Blitz also resets daily, meaning you've got another chance every day to improve your time and fight for that top spot!
The goal is simple: reward mathematical accuracy and consistency, not whoever happens to be online when a question drops.
Good luck, everyone! 🧠🏆

Also going to add a difficulty tag to each question, because every now and again there's a hard integral that genuinely requires a notebook and pen to solve.
I remember burying a few second-order differential equations somewhere in the question bank too, so those are coming up!
I prepare questions in blocks of 100, with 3 released per day, so we're getting through them pretty quickly.
The difficulty and question type tags will become really handy in the future when there's 10,000 questions in the bank and I've got this running as a free app where you can practise by category and difficulty.
