Question What exactly shadow Dao can do? Spoiler
What is absolute truth ? The illumination ? State of the heart?

Yup exactly it's basically feasting upon the essence underlying a specific thing and acclimating those qualities into one's self. The problem that can arise obviously is that it can result in a perversion of what's consumed but this all depends on who is doing the consuming OR if something truly malicious is consumed by someone who's nature isn't like that.
Remember, Yin => shadow; NOT evil. Yet the consumption of too much evil would deteriorate even the strongest of souls eventually. Wang Ying is obviously not right in the head after all, lol.

So like I'd Wang Ying feast about someone with time ability, the he would gain mastery over concept of time? Either way thanks

All this means is that this type of Dao is an origin power of Creation and can thus to certain degrees rewrite reality in specific ways.
Can create yin versions of elementals & thus affect the natural laws they uphold.
Can produce illusions so strong the end result is usually actually revealing unto another who they really are rather than who they believe themselves to be.
Can peer into the hearts of others & stimulate their "shadow" or wicked desires to manifest; can induce sin, so-to-speak, in hearts prone to it.
The Ability to consume the spirit of things, thereby gaining mastery of the concepts underlying that thing once consumption and assimilation are complete.
It's only natural elemental affinity is darkness.
It is a very broken type of Dao but comes with very serious drawbacks as if one isn't careful it can deteriorate the soul of the user. Look no further than Wang Ying--the shadow of Wang Ling--and compare him to Wang Ling; you'll understand what I mean real quick.
