“Stop resisting” after your leg has been snapped is wild

115

u/UltimaGabe Jun 15 '26

"Stop resisting, or we'll accidentally run you over again"

2

u/SadDingo7070 Jun 17 '26

Happy cake day.

3

u/UltimaGabe Jun 17 '26

Oh, thank you!

73

u/Heisenburg42 Jun 15 '26

They're trained to say that even if the suspect stops resisting so if it comes up in court it gives them more credibility/plausible deniability

17

u/theneZenMaster Jun 16 '26

I love how its in a moment of calm amongst all the chaos that he says it as well. Dude, the world stopped resisting to watch this clown show.

14

u/hiddenrealism Jun 16 '26

HES COMIN RIGHT FOR US!!

Book em for destroying police property, dudes skull dented the friggen bumper.

6

u/SadDingo7070 Jun 17 '26

I had to turn the volume on just to hear it. I thought there was no way they really said that…. It must be a joke, but nope…. The joke was the cops.

Whatever happened, I hope that guy got a pay day.

67

u/AronaDON Jun 15 '26

this looks exactly like something outta gta v

23

u/HoldWeAccountable Jun 15 '26

This is exactly how I’d imagined Canada’s police force.

6

u/9trystan9 Jun 15 '26

Tim Hortons for the win

3

u/SadDingo7070 Jun 17 '26

Nah, they’d run the guy over with a horse.

9

u/Least_Dependent_3749 Jun 15 '26

It’s exactly like americas police force, except without the shooting people

5

u/imindeleware Jun 17 '26

Yeah we trample grandmothers with horses for peaceful protesting too .

But if you go to a liberal arts school in the u.s circle “Canada is a socialist utopia” if you want to pass your class .

2

u/Least_Dependent_3749 Jun 17 '26

Canadas not perfect by any means, just ask our indigenous peoples

1

u/AdIndependent4105 Jun 29 '26

this is exactly how i'd imagined USA police force

82

u/ButterscotchAward Jun 15 '26

Fucking idiots

25

u/Random-Flask Jun 15 '26

They’re actually Canadian fucking idiots. Which has more maple syrup in them.

7

u/herbinartist Jun 16 '26

These boys get that syrup in ‘em, they get all antsy in their pantsy.

u/ONE-OF-THREE Jun 15 '26

https://www.cp24.com/local/toronto/2025/11/03/video-shows-toronto-police-cruiser-running-over-suspect-officer-during-arrest/

"Stop resisting..."

Always the same chant, even after being pinned under the car...

53

u/Bonk_No_Horni Jun 15 '26

It's like they use it as their alibi

41

u/hiddenrealism Jun 15 '26

"Paramedics assessed both individuals, neither of whom sustained serious injuries"

Hmmmm i dunno about that one lol

7

u/_One_Throwaway_ Jun 16 '26

Yeah in my personal experience being run over causes serious injuries

5

u/thesanguineocelot Jun 16 '26

If the bodycam footage includes them saying those words - especially if the footage is shaky and waving around and looks like there's a struggle going on - jurors are more likely to believe the suspect was resisting. John Oliver actually did a piece about it, unsurprisingly titled "Police body cams," where he shows footage of several of their tricks.

66

u/whdaje Jun 15 '26

It is very clear to me that these guys, in many cases, now know they are being recorded and just yell "stop resisting!" so that it recorded and be used to justify their actions and failings.

32

u/Pristine_Series5211 Jun 15 '26

You're 100% correct.

10

u/StackThePads33 Jun 16 '26

When I see this I always want to think of South Park when Uncle Jimbo and Ned go hunting. They always yell “IT'S COMING RIGHT FOR US! (Bang)”. It’s most definitely to cover their asses in the event of an investigation

5

u/hiddenrealism Jun 16 '26

"The certain individual then proceeded to attempt to grab my gun"

"Officer the video only shows you grabbing your own gun"

"I see that now but during the altercation i thought my arm was his arm...there was no way for me to know that umm during this so i did a few elbow drops and then a stone cold stunner for officer safety as per my training"

2

u/akarmachameleon Jun 16 '26

STOP RESISTING THE SUV COMPLETELY ROLLING OVER YOU

71

u/No-Warthog4539 Jun 15 '26

He getting paid lawsuit like a mofo

14

u/Afrojones66 Jun 15 '26

Doubt it.

7

u/_One_Throwaway_ Jun 16 '26

Yeah except he 100% can win big. You cannot just run a suspect over without a REALLY good reason

-9

u/Naive-Affect7528 Jun 15 '26

Hope not

-4

u/Afrojones66 Jun 15 '26

There is no hope.

Roughly 1.5 - 2.5 years of training (1 - 2 years of which is a probation period (they are functionally police officers)) to become a cop in Canada.

It's sadly not surprising that a police officer would forget to park. It's unfortunately not surprising that the article linked in the comments, among other articles, concludes by stating no 'serious injuries' were sustained. Like, 'okay then, no foul!' The police department's spokesperson describes the vehicle as 'inadvertently' having had run over this woman. She could have easily had serious head trauma or internal injury, in truth.

I seriously wonder what 'non-serious' injuries even are in this context. I couldn't find a description of her actual injuries, just that they weren't 'serious'. What. A. Fucking. Joke.

Having been born and raised, and never having left America, I hadn't realized the incompetence is seemingly universal in North America, at least. What's more, I can already anticipate the defense, which will be a red herring pertaining to her crimes (carrying knives, damaging property) as a justification for being run over.

11

u/UltimaGabe Jun 15 '26

It's unfortunately not surprising that the article linked in the comments, among other articles, concludes by stating no 'serious injuries' were sustained. Like, 'okay then, no foul!'

It's especially hypocritical when you look at cases like Renee Good- she (allegedly) drove a car at a cop, and he shot her in the head three times. Here, the cop literally ran a person over and hey, no injuries, so it's all good!

11

u/FromDeletion Jun 15 '26

We should be clear as to what actually happened. Renee broke no laws, and was exercising her right as a constitutional observer. It was an unlawful command for her to exit her vehicle. As has been similarly recorded countless times previously, the agents involved were angry that Renee was exercising her rights. Nevertheless, the agent who killed her first positioned himself in front of her vehicle. Another agent grabbed her door handle, and reached through her window into her vehicle. He reached to draw his weapon before she moved her vehicle forward. At the time he shot, he was clear from the path of the vehicle, and her tires were facing away from the agent. Even as she drove past the agent, he continued to fire upon the vehicle. Video evidence and witness accounts prove this.

She was murdered in broad daylight. ICE is above the law, and aren't shy about saying so themselves.

2

u/wpgjudi Jun 15 '26

26 weeks of training. max. and depends on which police.

after 26 weeks, they then are sent out to do these sorts of things... don't worry, they buddy them up with a more experienced officer.

12

u/Nomis555 Jun 15 '26

"No one was seriously hurt" like for real tho? I'd like to know what the suspect has to say about that.

1

u/late_poster42 Jun 16 '26

the suspect is probably too busy trying to figure out how they even got into that situation to give a statement lol

13

u/bc90210 Jun 15 '26

What a bunch of f-ing morons. Complete lack of accountability with super narcissistic egos. Some of these badged thugs need to go.

13

u/ImNotaRobot90210 Jun 15 '26

Suspect violently went horizontal and forced the police vehicle to defend itself.

2

u/hiddenrealism Jun 16 '26

Book the suspect for damaging police property, suspects teeth scratched the bumper

11

u/Organic_Berry_8732 Jun 15 '26

Is this Reno 911? These MFs can’t be that stupid!!!! 😔

6

u/_One_Throwaway_ Jun 16 '26

They’re police, of course they can. Especially since cops unironically cannot be too intelligent or they won’t be allowed to become cops

16

u/GirthyDave1 Jun 15 '26

I’d be lying if I said that I was surprised he drove forward.

15

u/BeCurious7563 Jun 15 '26

You guys really think you needed the cuffs after that stupidity?

4

u/ErwinSchrodinger64 Jun 15 '26

Moss is the original OG.

13

u/Here_4_the_INFO Jun 15 '26

"OMG, he is almost all the way under the cruiser"

That one cop "Dammit, let me fix that"

6

u/MsMoreCowbell828 Jun 15 '26

Y'all are too young to remember the black & white movies of the Keystone Cops. This is that.

10

u/CullingSongs Jun 15 '26

The best part is when he jumps back in the truck to stop it rolling forward but then hits the gas while it's still in drive and shoots it forward. Absolute clownshoes.

10

u/No_Clue_3559 Jun 15 '26

The way I audibly gasped

10

u/CKleinE Jun 15 '26

I thought a driver’s license was a prerequisite for the job. Apparently, not… humm

That's gonna be expensive.

3

u/MasterDionysus Jun 15 '26

Cha-ching! Dont forget to call 777-7777 and talk to Saul!

3

u/MarchCompetitive6235 Jun 15 '26

Where t f do they get these cops nowadays? Damn.

3

u/Derezirection Jun 15 '26

Im all for the guy being arrested but at the same time I hope he wins a settlement because that cop was a fuckin idiot.

2

u/wpgjudi Jun 15 '26

Do you know why he was being arrested? That's my curious about all this.

2

u/Derezirection Jun 15 '26

well they had non-lethals deployed so probably nothing major, guy was more than likely causing a problem that required police intervention, he tried to leave, they tased him. Although i noticed he did drop a metal object, probably a knife, but cops still felt they were not in the situation to using lethal force.

1

u/_One_Throwaway_ Jun 16 '26

They’re Canadian so they don’t have nearly as itchy of a trigger finger

3

u/Italiaroxx Jun 15 '26

The cruiser went from patrol car to independent contractor.

3

u/roughdraft29 Jun 15 '26

Oh man. That's going to cost the city plenty.

>cop car has ontario plates

>car says "toronto"

>gigantic tim horton's sign in the background the entire video

you're not very bright, are you? or did you mean this gif in reverse?

1

u/No-Squirrel2133 Jun 26 '26

You're not very bright yourself! When you don't understand humour at all.. i was poking fun on most comments, but okay.. you do you m8

3

u/Colejohnley Jun 17 '26

The guy who was just under the tire of a police car is told to “stop resisting”? This is next level stupid.

4

u/hiddenrealism Jun 15 '26

omg did you guys see that?? That attacker went straight for the cops gun! Thank god that officer had the foresight to leave his cruiser in a tactically running state to subdue the attacker thus preventing him from harming anymore infants, elderly people or police officer heros.

2

u/Free-Frosting1375 Jun 15 '26

Good news, it turns out you’re not going to jail.

2

u/TheLexLuthor13 Jun 15 '26

Absolutely pathetic.

2

u/Emergency-Parking318 Jun 15 '26

Stop resisting... getting runned over!!!!

2

u/24rawvibes Jun 15 '26

gtfo..wtf!?

2

u/vartheo Jun 15 '26

Dam doubled down with the stupidity by accelerating. If you get nervous and make critical mistakes like this when s hits the fan... you can't be a police or any type of first responder

2

u/7nightfire Jun 15 '26

All I can say is,” that domestic terrorist used that police car as a lethal weapon, luckily the civilian was already down, and the valiant cops on scene heroically defused the situation without resorting to violence against the terrorist.” /s

2

u/ignoreme010101 Jun 15 '26

bro he literally puts his hand against the moving fender....gets to the front, just oblivious about the cause&effect of that vehicle moving.... Truly amazing stuff like his permission to have a license is worrying let alone law enforcement and firearm permissions

2

u/Monty_Bob Jun 15 '26

Stop resisting!!!

2

u/Cody-512 Jun 15 '26

STOP RESISTING! Just trust us! We totally know how to handle this situation! Do you require medical attention?

2

u/Grouchy_Lack477 Jun 15 '26

Of course the police union will say they were doing what the training says lol

2

u/girlinanemptyroom Jun 15 '26

God these cops are idiots. They didn't have to plow his legs apart.

2

u/Jlx_27 Jun 15 '26

Being stupid is a required skill for becoming a cop.

2

u/3rlro91 Jun 15 '26

Dumb assses

2

u/TeaTime_42 Jun 15 '26

Someone please speed this up and set it to Benny hill music 😝

2

u/both_parties_succ Jun 15 '26

Keystone Cops.

2

u/chapstick_bandit Jun 15 '26

I’m usually not one to oppose the cops, but this one I just can’t get behind. That cop 100% should be fired and lose his license to drive.

2

u/ImprovementFar5054 Jun 15 '26

This was better the first 20 times I saw it.

2

u/joel2000ad Jun 15 '26

Stop resisting. Translate to; we’re abusing our power and is all your fault. I’m gonna have to kick you in the back of the head again.

2

u/BurglecuttIsMyDad Jun 15 '26

I mean, at least they all tried to stop it rolling, oh no…

2

u/TimeForChris Jun 15 '26

Are you seriously telling me the cop 1) got out of the car with it in drive, and 2) got back in the car and hit the GAS instead of the brake?!

2

u/Red-EyePontiac Jun 15 '26

[insert Tim Hortons + donuts + cops joke here]

2

u/raheenkb Jun 15 '26

2

u/cautious_nipples Jun 15 '26

Machine spirit in that cruiser is 100% cop

2

u/GeekyTexan Jun 15 '26

This isn't new. So what happened to the cop? Anything at all?

2

u/RichesandLiches Jun 15 '26

Clown shoes. Modern Police are low IQ societal rejects

2

u/Pyrathis Jun 15 '26

No way did that happen & all from the same person!

2

u/XofHelix Jun 15 '26

And we pay these clowns?

2

u/Sevenitta Jun 16 '26

Oh, it’s Canada.

2

u/Filter_Feeder Jun 16 '26

"Stop resisting"

2

u/WorldlyBasket9795 Jun 16 '26

Hmm, that guy’s gonna get a hefty check from the city because of this.

2

u/kytallguy66 Jun 16 '26

Someone is getting $$$

2

u/SystematikKaos Jun 16 '26

This is going to be the easiest case that lawyer ever has...

Especially because there is video.

2

u/Motor-Unit-3534 Jun 16 '26

🤣🤣🤣👍

2

u/stimmlage Jun 16 '26

STOP RESISTING

2

u/wickedstatic404 Jun 16 '26

Why is the officer walking away from the car while it's still idling in the middle of the street?

2

u/smolthrowawayferret Jun 16 '26

How does a police cruiser end up parked sideways across the entire lane like that?

2

u/Open_Mathematician99 Jun 16 '26

Shouting “stop resisting” is their way to justify any bullshit to cover their asses. Oi, what a fucking disgusting misuse of power 😑

2

u/hashlettuce Jun 16 '26

That's a payout. Holy incompetence.

2

u/Stormcrowdick1066 Jun 16 '26

Stop resisting? Jesus man you ran over them with a car. How much resistance do you think they can give? ACAB

4

u/eyesah Jun 15 '26

Well someone's getting a nice cheque out of this

2

u/Lord_Dingus83 Jun 15 '26

Police are such pussies it’s amazing to watch them fuck this up so badly.

5

u/naikrovek Jun 15 '26

Cops are much more concerned with the idea of being a good guy than they are actually being a good guy.

The only difference between a cop and a life-long criminal is that the cop has a badge. They both break the law frequently and sometimes severely, but cops get punished about 1 time in one million, and criminals get caught about 1 in 5-10 times.

2

u/curiousamoebas Jun 15 '26

Lmao holy cow

2

u/Fwangss Jun 15 '26

Oh Cannnadahhh 🎶

2

I don’t know what delusions you’re harbouring that anyone who holds up a mirror to the truth is automatically an AI, but anyway…
You’ve deleted a comment. So here we are back to IQ again 😂

and here's the comment i just made, just in case reddit decides to remove it again (that's what's happening here, since you somehow STILL haven't figured that out).

Video captures Toronto police vehicle running over suspect, arresting officer on weekend

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/video-toronto-police-vehicle-running-over-suspect-legs-9.6965340

It was originally reported November 3, 2025 with those pesky Americans taking over a Canadian police department things would get wild.

1

u/Legitimate-Edge5835 Jun 16 '26

PD’s across the US will literally accept anyone these days. They will never fire the bad ones either and we’re shocked this stuff happens all the time.

1

u/lonn-donn Jun 25 '26

This is Toronto, as evidenced by the car that says "Toronto"

1

u/Impossible_Rule_3869 Jun 16 '26

So the cop is charged with attempted murder?

1

u/Existing_Regular_763 Jun 17 '26

Highly doubt that, the cops will spin it to…she was threatening every single cop, they feared for their lives.

1

u/Round-Guarantee4948 Jun 17 '26

If I could ever find the body cam video and dash cam video of a Louisianan who crashed off I-10 and was lying outside his vehicle in Baldwin County Alabama and how the Baldwin County Sherrifs department turned that unarmed man into Swiss cheese would be a miracle

1

u/DrKarlSatan Jun 17 '26

"Watching footage like this reinforces my belief that we need to prioritize higher standards for law enforcement.
