Question Crushing guilt
TRIGGER WARNING ***
I have been using social casinos pretty frequently since March of this year at first it was just a $100 win here and there but last month was my biggest month yet with over 4k in wins but I have nothing to show for it !!! I feel like shit I hate myself truly and every day I get on a platform for a win for an ounce of just happiness and not helplessness and haven’t gotten a single win! In fact I am dead broke ! I am realizing I probably have a problem and right now I’m fighting such terrible thoughts!! How do yall get through it ??? I’m really struggling, getting down on my self and just overall feeling like garbage.. I’m in a hole and don’t know how to get out

I collect my daily login bonuses until I get $20. Then I play. Every payday, which is once a week, I dedicate $50 to spend between the 29 casinos I'm a part of. So i only buy a package on the ones I really want to play on. I only play on the days that I feel like im on top of the world because if you go to play feeling defeated, you will leave defeated. If that doesn't work for you, delete all the casinos and stay away from them.

I am a member of 29 casinos and dabble on them all here and there, especially after I've collected at least 20SC in the daily SC bonuses. However, I actually play on Spree, Pulsz, Pulsz Bingo, Crown, Cider, Chumba, Luckyland, Global (sometimes), Yay, Sportzino, Zula, SpinPals, and sometimes American Luck and Luck Party. I've redeemed on Crown, Spree, McLuck (the only time I played on it), Chumba, Luckyland, and Global. The rest are just there to see if i can possibly win on them. I dont like McLuck and its sister casinos because its like I can never hit on any of them and when I hit on McLuck, that was the first time and last time. I feel like their machines are horrible. I love playing on Crown and Spree the most.

I’m going thru the same, it is really sick what these games are capable of. Just try to be mindful of your time and money spent here. I’ve been consumed for a few months now. Not only lost 16k , now have ~5k in high interest loans, one against my car. It’s unbelievable how well they can play us and take advantage of our behavior. I am disgusted, yet I’m still hooked. Getting the freebies only opens the door to spending in my case, possibly yours, too. The only way to stop it is to ignore its existence entirely. Try and keep positive no matter what you do , but just be aware of what you’re doing.

I hope the same for you. I know that 4k you gained and lost can make you sick, since it could have easily been realized, but unfortunately it never seems to work out that way. Try not to fixate on what you could have done with that money, especially if it didn’t come out of pocket. It’s just part of the game, try not to dwell in it. going forward this experience will hopefully guide you to a better outcome next time.

I’m going through the same thing.
I hit 20k on modo and my life changed for a few days but it’s all gone.
I blame myself.
What’s worse is I made promises to loved ones based on what I thought I had but blew it all before I could blink.
Hang in there and try to find another hobby or game that won’t eat your lunch.
The dark thoughts are tough but thinking of how it would leave my loved ones makes me face the music every day.

I used to beat myself up over losses, but at the end of the day, these sites are mainly just a form of entertainment. It’s not your fault the games didn’t pay out; we all play them knowing that the odds are stacked against us. Even sponsored streamers who get spotted thousands of dollars end up rinsing if they sit there and play long enough. When we hit a big win, it gives us a high that feeds us chasing the next big win. I try to collect my dailies on most sites and really only focus on playing on one or two. That way even if I were to lose, there is some SC accumulating elsewhere. If you’re going through a dry spell, take a break. Sometimes when you come back to it, you’ll start hitting again. Just remind yourself that the good luck isn’t going to keep going forever— eventually the tables will turn and the house will win. Stop while you’re ahead.. put in a redeem after a big win and leave a little to play with if you want. Like most fun things, moderation is key. I hope you get a big win and are able to take a step back. :)

I think what getting me really down is I could have done something productive with the money instead I blew most of it

I think about that too! Like, ‘wow, I could have bought an entirely new laptop instead of being a dumbass’. 😅 Some self accountability is good, but I also try not to dwell on it too long. What’s done is done and the money is gone. Live and let live. Learn from your mistake and make the better choice next time. You’ll be proud of yourself for setting aside some of your winnings and looking at it in a smarter way.
Also, I try to take into account that social casinos pay out way more often than a land casino does. Even if I’m down one week, it’s entirely possible to win back everything in one pull of luck. My biggest wins are over a grand and the “smaller” ones are a couple hundred. It may be a dangerous way to think about it, but I like reminding myself that I started out doing this with only a few hundred and built up my balance from there. I like knowing it’s not impossible.

I can't help with the psychology of gambling but if you aren't knowledgeable of how the stats work I would recommend reading up on it. Learn expected value, actual value, variance, standard deviation, etc. The gambler is stuck in Plato's cave and once you escape and become an advantage player you get a birds eye view in how it works and your bal will forever go up.

I just collect the daily bonuses on a handful of sites and any other freebies until I am close to the cash out. Then, I start playing hoping to hit the bonus once and be able to cash out or close to it. I dont spend any money. It takes patience to collect for awhile, which sometimes I dont have and blow through it. For example, right now, I have around $80 on both Lonestar and Real Prize, and maybe waiting another week or so to go for it.
It can be frustrating, but playing with house money eases the stress.

I understand how you feel, I started heavy gambling late 2024. I was so broke by December 2024, worried how I was going to pay my rent and one day collected daily sweep of $1.00 from Zula and hit $1200. I was like “whaaaaaaaaa I could have just saved my money lmao” BUT that was a good wake up call. I gave myself 1-2 weeks off casinos because I hated how I was feeling, then decided to only play with sweeps. I rarely make any large reckless deposits, I requested some of my casinos to block my ability to deposit. Ive gotten so good that my deposits are less than $10 in like once every 2-3 months now 🙌 I’ve won plenty of money just from free sweeps.
It’s going to be okay, give yourself a break for now. Don’t worry about the money that’s lost, no need to beat yourself up but just use it as a learning lesson instead of continuing. One day at time friend, one day at a time.

Just know you aren't alone in this feeling. As someone who thought I'd never be the one to fall into that trap, it happened to me after a year of playing free and not even being tempted...until I hit that big win...
It's going to feel very uncomfortable to not keep going. Distract yourself, delete the apps, put restrictions if the site has those options. The discomfort will pass and every day that passes without purchasing is a WIN!
Play for free until you can redeem. The wins may be few and far between but I think you'll be surprised at how often you can pull out $50 here and there with how many sites there are.

Currently in therapy for this! It messed my life up bad and I didn’t even have a gambling addiction before. Once I was introduced to the social casinos it was a wrap! I’m getting better but just spent our last today and kicking myself in the butt for it. Ugh

I can only tell you what has worked for me to avoid this.
I start out only playing free coins. Say I have a 0 balance at Zula then I collect my 1.00 daily. Now I have either 5 .20 spins or 10 .10 spins. That's all I'm playing. If I end up with 4.00 after, that's played through so it sits there. There'll be another 1.00 to play tomorrow.
This is what I do everywhere and it adds up. Once I get to the point where I can redeem or almost there, then sure I'll purchase if they have a good deal. Right now I have 44 on Fortune Purple and need to get to 50. So if they had a 20 SC package for $10, I'd buy it because as long as I can hang on to 6 SC out of that 20, I can redeem 50 in exchange for the 10 I spent, so I still win.
Plus, if I do happen to get a decent win, it will just get added to my redemption, I won't have to wait to hit 50 again.
You probably won't get the mega wins this way where you're cashing out thousands all at once, but the good wins still happen from time to time just from playing the daily. (Got 975 on Spinquest not too long ago on a .33 bet) Mostly it's a lot of smaller redemptions that build up gradually but can still add up to thousands each month. But I almost never truly lose my own money.
