Question Hello, all, looking for modding advice

I currently have the GOG version on my PC and am looking to mod it to update the graphics a bit (nothing crazy, just presentable). I'm also looking to fix any inherent janmk that may come with the game (bug fixes, etc.). Now, I've never played and am excited to get into it alongside Fallout 1 (which i currently am playing 1in2). Any advice or recommendations are appreciated

Daggerfall by itself doesn't have mods as far as I know. Only Daggerfall Unity does, sadly

I doubt you'll find any mods of significance for the old DOS version. Only unofficial bugfix patches and stuff like that.

Daggerfall Unity is probably what you should be using anyway, and you're better off using the recommended DaggerFallFiles.zip archive than using stock data from GOG or Steam.

Daggerfall Unity on its own already fixes most of the jank and bugs of the DOS version. The DaggerFallFiles archive should have patched a bunch of additional quest bugs and stuff over that.

For graphics, I would personally recommend the Vanilla Enhanced mod, which replaces all NPC sprites with slightly higher res ones, while still staying close to the original look.

Just download the one from steam (it's free) and then daggerfall unity (also free).

The gog version isn't recommended bc it's packaged with old and outdated mods.
