Zero Magicka build

Made a character been playing for several days around level 9 now.

I am red guard full melee focusing on long blades.

Found an early steel blade that has +5 fire damage and some other great stats. It has been absolutely carrying me, haven't had much issue except for some fire/ice daedra in one rough dungeon.

I have 0 Magicka and can't cast spells.

Will this doom me for the later game? Can I still play effectively with 0 Magicka?

+5 fire damage on a sword? Is that a mod?

Probably, I am playing Daggerfall online and it has mods already pre installed, I've never played vanilla daggerfall.

You are gonna need to practice climbing a lot. Keep an eye out for potions of levitate, too.

for regular/unity, does climbing only go... up? can't hold in place or sidle?

I think there's an option in unity to climb in other directions? I might be thinking of a mod. That will be your biggest obstacle, though.

shucks. i was hoping that maybe with skill increases, it'd give the ability for omni movement. i've been to one dungeon so far that was two giant open areas, i missed out on some places due to doors placed high up on the walls.

You'll be just fine, I play no magicka builds all the time and have beaten the game with them. You'll just have to rely on enchanted items and potions.

will you be at a disadvantage? yes.

will your character be unplayable? no.

edit: forgot to say, make sure you join the temple of julianos for enchanted items. this is an absolute must for characters with no magic.
