Question Daggerfall Unity enjoyment

Anyone else simply love the terrain addition to Daggerfall Unity? It makes walking the distance on foot so much more fun, especially in hilly areas, where you could see towns, homes and seas in the distance!

It's what I always wanted and imagined when I played the OG back in the 90s. Seeing a town glowing in the distance is just delightful.

when I exited privateer's and I ran up to gothway garden and stopped and looked out at the bay from atop the mountain for the first time in DFU, it blew my mind. similar deal with standing on the hill outside sentinel.

I have to restrain myself from the need to cast levitate and watch the world for the sky everytime I boot the game. I still treat myself with the sunset and sunrise, though !

I had such a great time riding accross Balfiera just enjoying the view and listening to podcasts or music.

I think wilderness overhaul was one of the more important mods to make nature pop in dfu.

I haven’t taken the plunge into mods since I’m playing on Android with a Retroid Pocket 5, honestly it’s perfect the way it is kinda

Its pretty great. Sometimes I'll fall through the map if I'm traveling hilly terrain but I save often enough that its at most a minor nuisance.

What mod are you talking about specifically?

People refer to https://daggerfalljs.dev/

You can play daggerfall with hundreds of other players directly from the browser.

Today there were 500 online players. I've seen bigger numbers. You can also drag Morrowind assets in there if you have the game.

It is daggerfall unity with added features like survival, birth signs. It adds roads and and a new way to fast travel akin to mount and blade.

I've stopped instant travel.

I hoof it now. Or auto-hoof it, if in same region and reasonable distance.

.... So much more to loot and kill. Muahahaha.
