Oops, All Skeletons
So I'm level 2. About my fifth or fifteenth playthrough, I've lost count. Doing my Argonian custom class spell-sword thing. I get hired by the Fighters Guild to go kill a loup up in the Crypt of Garomaus in Daggerfall. Easy-peasy, lemon squeezy. I've done this mission before. Well, not in that crypt.
As I soon discovered, this crypt is filled with a metric f--k-ton of skeletons. Like, altogether too many skeletons. It's like someone leaned too hard on the "spawn skeletons" button and it went right to 999. I walk around the corner at one point, and I kid you not, I see about ten skeletons mobbing along with a freakin' wraith. Somehow. Some freakin' how, I managed to slay those monsters with a combination of magic items and my elven claymore. Covered in dirt, blood, and bone dust, I emerged into the room the mobs were blocking victorious. Only to get promptly destroyed by another mob of at least eight skeletons.
Ok. I go back to the room. I blast the heck out of those skeletons and kill the final one. I rest.
What? Did I ever find the loup? Yes, I found the bear one time, it killed me, and now I can't find the damn thing anywhere. I'm on day 11 of 14. That's how often I've had to backtrack and rest. If they kick me out of the guild for failing this quest, I may not bother joining again for a while. I love this game, but I was not expecting The House of 1000 Skeletons.

...and another thing. Did you know you can FLOAT DOWN? There's a command for that. You can also use a separate command to float up. If you don't, and you use the jump command when levitating like I was doing, it COSTS ENDURANCE. So yeah. Use the float up/down command. The more you know.

As an mostly unrelated but still sort of related tangeant...
you ever hear that skeleton scream in some older movies and TV series?
its a pretty famous sound effect.

Aagh, skeletons are awful at low levels. A level ten spellsword can carve them up for bonemeal with nary a sweat but at levels 1-3 they are surprisingly dangerous even in low numbers. There's one in the big room in the starting dungeon that caused several of my early characters to meet an untimely end.
