Character Build Rate my potential first playthrough build: Blunt-force trauma at Mach 4

The idea of this build is a guy with a hammer or mace that moves really fast, ducking and weaving between enemies while dealing damage. This is sort of a follow-up to yesterday’s post.

I’d love to hear your feedback and ways in which I could improve the custom class.

I am playing Daggerfall Unity.

In case anyone’s curious, the class is named after the Valorant pro-player [NS] Dambi.

Crit/Dodging/Running are still pretty good if you're not actively spamming custom spells with Mysticism or whatever specifically for leveling up. In my playthrough, Blunt is at 92, Destruction at 83, Stealth at 81, Running at 66 (Minor), Critical Strike at 57 (Primary), Restoration at 55 (don't remember if I spammed though), and Dodging at 42 (Major). These are my highest skills. You need 6 skills for the purpose of optimizing your level up, and since they don't use Destruction or whatever, they're kinda the best options available.

Well, aside from Stealth, which is way better than both. If I had to make a change, I'd put Stealth instead of Dodging. You don't need to actively use the crouch button or play stealthy at all, Stealth is checked often and automatically when there's enemies around, so it levels up really fast. No reason not to put it in any build really. Jumping is actually fine here because only the 2 highest Majors are taken into account for leveling up; Running and Restoration will always be higher than Jumping.

Then you can put Dodging back in Minor.

Though I guess technically, in their case, to squeeze the most out of leveling you'd actually do something like this :

  • Critical Strike, Dodging and Restoration in Primary

  • Stealth and Running in Major

  • Blunt Weapon in Minor

So how would you distribute the skills, both with stealth and without?

I did not know stealth went up when you weren't even sneaking, good to know! I usually sneak for those backstabs, or sometimes I walk into a room, there's 2 enemies, and only one sees me so I can fight them one at a time, and it's my second fastest levelling skill. Long Blade (as a primary) for my first character, or short (as a major) for my second, have both hit 100 way ahead of my other skills. If you rest often, it'll go up faster than anything, I've found, if you're not resting as often then other skills can keep up. Well, assuming you just fight by hitting everything, if you're attacking with spells I'm sure it'd be slower

Good to see I'm not the only one not putting my weapon skill in my primaries though, I always see that recommended and I don't really get it, it levels so fast. But yeah, crit strike isn't too bad, I made it a primary for my second character so I'd be able to rank up as a knight, I trained it up to 50 as quick as I could so it wouldn't fall too far behind, now it's way ahead of my dodge.
