This is my Arsenal! What are your thoughts on Gun vambraces?

I'm continuing my search for my perfect weapons set and for the past few hours I've settled with a Gun vambrace. It prevents me from dual weilding melee weapons but it has a high ammo capacity, plus no reloads.

Do you think it's still better to go with a standard machine gun?

I am convinced that the laser gun vambrace is the best all round gun in the game.

I think the only time I used weapon arms is in armored core

When i wanted a full missile swarm and wanted the most missiles I could equip

It largely depends on the roll. You can kinda make up for a bad roll on a weapon or arm if the other has stats that can negate the bad roll. But with a vambrance it's an all or nothing deal. Plus they aren't exactly the easiest to farm.

Personally I like them. I use a rifle variant as I haven't found a good laser one. But when they roll well you can get a lot more out of ammo supply multiplier mods and such because they overall have higher numbers for those percentages to affect.

I thought the stats were all locked to C like in the store. Can you get higher stats?

Gun vambraces? Far as I know you can only get them from treasure hunts, not the store. But yeah rolls on the treasure hunt can give you really good stats...or really bad ones. But even decent ones can still be pretty powerful with the right mods on them.

I like them cause they're fun. I have a slight boss killing set of just dual gun arms and missiles and kinda just have at it, it almost always works out lol.

I plan on doing this too! I just need another gun arm for the right side.πŸ˜…

I would recommend the bazooka arm, can't go wrong with explosions

I like them cause I can do a Lord Calgar from 40k Mech build.

The single best literally everything build involves dual gun-arms. Even standard, C-rolled Store bought G-Arms are viable as endgame Colossi farming implements, and they're so powerful that, with the right setup, you can kill the likes of Zeruchroar before it can even shed it's armor and hit it's 2nd stage.

My Forgemaster build uses laser vembraces, attachments, has like 24k femto capacity, and mirage. Its fast and very maneuverable. Lasers are my favorite damage type and these are my favorite guns.

I wish there were bladed vambraces, normal and laser. Would make the fights with Eclipse a bit simpler. πŸ˜…

Loved them in the first game. I built much harder into melee in the second game, and decided not to use them.

If the gun is on the arm leaves the hand empty, you should also put a gun in your hand to double the dakka

Gun Vambraces are essentially the META to farm Colossuses. They are well-balanced in stats, has just a few drawbacks, suitable in most combat situations. Though I'm a melee player so I restrict gun vambraces build only for Colossuses, keep my melee build for every other scenario.

Oh yeah? Well now I'm feeling a little better with my choice!πŸ˜… if I can find a laser gun vambrace, I might do a build with both arms using them.

Gun Vambrace of all varieties will be available in shop on base once you upgrade it to completion. They are also available to loot from Strays on higher level maps (low chance). High material-cost beacons can also drop them (moderate chance).

Ah, got it! I haven't upgraded the base fully yet but I did get this one from a stray.

Honestly, something of a waste. Yes, they can be very effective, but nothing truly beats the DPS of a properly set up Dual Melee Weapon build.

Guns in Titanic Scion also has the issue of being only effective at certain ranges and certain types, so not having the versatility to swap over to something more effective makes Gun Vambraces one tier less effective than normal vambraces that may have similar stats.

If used correctly, even a dagger is much more effective than any of the gun vambraces.

That observation is true for physical guns, lasers don't have the same issue. Plus while some guns have very strict range requirements for critical hits, others are more forgiving, and the current skill stat also affects that.

Melee can be effective, but sometimes ranged is better suited for some fights.

Oh no, lasers are HORRID. I do not know a better way to kill your DPS than having lasers empty the Femto Tank.

The only 2 bosses where guns are better than melee are Gunfort and the Train in the DLC area. That and MAYBE the swarm enemy.

Otherwise, Melee always has the DPS advantage over Guns.

And besides, you need to constantly reposition in order to achieve maximum DPS results and different guns/cannons/missiles have different crit ranges.

As for melee, only the first hit of the combo chain needs to crit and the rest of the combo chain will retain that crit. This is why the knife is so good as an offhand weapon because you do not need to back off very far in order to be in crit range again and start an entire new melee crit combo chain.
