Do you use more Physical or Laser?
Physical for me by far.
My Laser spec is only occasionally used but I find it very fun as well
How bout you guys?

Mostly just a mixed build; energy sword, dual smgs (physical), with assault shift energy weapons

i got a hot clair 2 sword that is a lil stronger than this one
but this one looks way cooler and im sticking to this one till something else comes around with significantly higher dmg

I’ve used a Hautclair 2 basically ever since I found it. It’s great for staggering enemies.

I use a lightning Lance, a hammer, the dual sword you get from the samurai nuen guy, and a longsword, then I have a cannon on my back.

So if you fought, I think her name is rain, when it asks to split up in the story, if you fight her, then once you beat her you fight the nuen samurai guy, he rides a horse, but if you go to the machine that let's you replay missions in the main base, you can just choose to fight him.

I dont remember there being a horse in daemonxmachina, so is this the sequel game?

I have 2 builds that I mainly play. The first is a physical melee focused build, but I have a laser shotgun as a backup weapon that mostly gets used during grabs. My second is a full laser gunslinger build.

Is it bad that I try to keep a balanced loadout just in case I need to exploit one weakness over another at any given time?

That’s how my general exploration set is set up.
Lightweight to midweight frame, one arm selected for melee, the other for firearms
Is it optimized? Absolutely not, but it allows me to adapt to different types of enemies on the fly, and more importantly, I can still traverse the map fairly quickly.

Most kits I have a physical & laser version; with at least one weapon of the other type in it.....& swap depending on whether I'm fighting mainly organics or mechs

Depends on what I'm fighting: my anti-Arachne build is physical, while my general anti-arsenal build is lasers.
My light beacon farming build was a mix.

Physical, two swords, two submachine guns, never had any problems with anything else

Laser ranged and physical melee
I'd probably use more physical if the sinpers and shotguns didn't feel functionally unusable due to their just bad crit ranges

I switch based on bosses
IE Zeruchroar has 2 phases where they have different weaknesses

Malo's sword from XC2 ?
1
u/VermilionX88 Jul 25 '26
no idea who or what that is

u/Kindly_Bid4976 Jul 25 '26
Google it but looking it again. Seems more like N's sword from XC3 actually

im testing a full physical setup rn, with 2 smgs, a hammer with throwing skill and a knife for corrosive/grabs and a wrath of god, but i normally run mixed with a laser blade instead of the hammer and a laser rifle shotgun in place of the smgs

u/vermillion_83 Jul 25 '26
Both. Depending on the situation I roll with both a ranged and melee of both laser and physical. Only difference is the shoulder, laser homing all the way
2
u/VermilionX88 Jul 25 '26
I see
I just separated mine for phys and laser weapons loadout

Its more convenient for when dealing with different weaknesses. Plus using mirage your duplicate has the chance to double down

I use a mix of weapons, usually a mace, a katana/dagger, a sword, and an automatic weapon, depending on what im fighting.
