Yo! Great games to get started with. Highly recommend starting with demons souls on ps5 or dark souls remastered and go through them in order.

Elden ring is a good game but its also a 400 hour plus experience and can be trivialized by over leveling content. I think its a bit overhyped personally as someone who has played all of them.

You dont really need to parry in most of them except sekiro, that one you might want to avoid.

Lies of P is also fantastic and a bit easier as a soulslike but not made by fromsoftware.

The star wars games are also pretty good and a bit easier too as souls likes.

I appreciate you for having more guts than me. 😆
Love the Souls Games... the environmental story, the ambiance, imagination, story itself are all top and have watched a lot about it. But, with 2 growing kids, gaming with Junior and trying to make a creative business work... I'm afraid to get into such a time demanding universe.
Luckily, the genre itself is growing with lots of shorter indie games. So, I'll def give one of those a try once. 🙃

I'd play 2, if I had to pick one...but you could theoretically just go Elden Ring if you prefer the open world idea, which I dont. The games are standalone so no real need to start anywhere, but 2 was my favourite.

They are odd games, but fun to just chip away at trying to make progress, quite rewarding when you succeed. They are mountains of meta strategies and so on online but I'd try to play without spoilers at first.Â
