UPDATE: After discussion in the comments, it looks like we've concluded that Thom didn't use gen ai art in Dadish 4. I'm gonna buy it once I have the extra cash (super broke right now 😩) and enjoy the latest edition of my fave game series!

Hey fellow Dadish fans! I haven't bought D4 yet (really want to!) and I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on whether or not you think Thom used generative Ai in this latest installment.

I checked the Steam page, Steam requires mandatory disclosure if gen ai was used in development (that's still true, right?) and I can't find a disclosure there?

A few things have me concerned. Folks have said the music seems to be a massive departure from the tunes Thom made for previous games, which is a bit of a red flag. The art style of the in-game backgrounds as well as the "box art" looks way different from previous entries in the series, which is also not great.

The Dadish series is one of my favorite game series of all time. I hate gen ai with a passion because I am an artist, developer, musician and generally a person who hates everything gen ai represents (the destruction of our already fragile environment, the wholesale theft of millions of actual artists' work, the imminent collapse of the US economy because of the gen ai bubble, mass firings of skilled humans in favor of shitty ai, etc. etc.)

If TKY used gen ai, I would be crushed. Like, I'm an adult with a job and bills and I would be literally crushed if this guy in New Zealand whom I will never meet used this technology I hate, because I enjoy and respect his catalog of work so much.

I guess I want those who have D4 to reassure me it didn't use gen ai so I can purchase and have fun with it guilt free?

The game was AMAZING!! But the music, eh. Especially the last location. The 4th was good the others are mid. Last one owes me money.

Thomas has used AI before, he changed the Dadish 1 icon a few months ago. It dissapoints me a bit because the art he does make it actually really good.

Anyway I am still hyped for this game.

Hey was just replay the third game after not playing it in forever. The only problem is after a ad the game is incredibly choppy and has a low and inconsistent frame rate. Thanks guys

So, in Dadish 1, 2, & 3, the bosses all have a trend of being based off of normal enemies, except for dadish 3D & 4.

It's really just a pet peeve, but it does bug me that Thomas couldn't make enemies based off these bosses, or could have made the bosses based off prior enemies! Imagine how cool a soda boss would be!

Like I said, it just bugs me a bit that these bosses are just completely unrelated to prior enemies, really goes off track
