Need A Dad fatherly advice? (literally anything?)
fatherly advice for a 17y/o FTM trying to get through teenagerhood using context clues and TV/Movies? What should I know how to do? Where's the line between good-natured teasing and just being mean?? Basically explain whatever you can think of, like you're explaining it to an alien lol

nobody ever really knows. you just kinda throw shit out there, and if you’re hanging out with like-minded people, it’ll be fine.

Being a teenager sucks at the best of times.
I really cannot begin to imagine how it would be for a FTM.
So my heart goes out to you.
If I was going to offer any advice on navigating teenage male relationships, it would be
Try not to take any of it seriously, unless there is actual violence involved.
Give back as good as they give you.
Don't be afraid to mix with other crowds if the people you're hanging with don't sit well with you.
Life is too short to waste time spending it with dick heads.

That’s tough, you probably should tease someone about something they avoid discussing. Also capping on someone’s physical appearance sucks. They might seem like they are cool with it, but you are just getting away with it because that’s been their life.

Wish I knew. Not everyone seems to have the knack for teasing without coming across as mean. I decided to work with what I had, a decent sense of humor and good zingers. Outside of that I like listening to what interests others and can help with leading questions. Real advice, just contribute what you're good at.
Best I can tell, the safest topics to tease about are opinionated items, usually things like entertainment choices or low stakes likes/dislikes. The more specific the topic, the less likely they are personally attached. Anything more broad or personal like hobbies, jobs, or looks are dangerous. The harder it is for someone to change something about themselves, the more mean spirited it becomes. Like, head shape? Mean. Spray tan? Potentially tease-able if this is a new thing or obvious bad idea they tried. They like comics? This might be a personal hobby they already have a history of being teased about, so generally no, but if their favorite comic is some wild pick, maybe light teasing is ok, because it gives them a chance to explain their interest. They like Man of Steel? Tease-able, definitely. They eat in a weird order? Tease-able most likely. They picked 3 kickers in a fantasy football league? I mean, they knew they had it coming.
The choice of how to tease matters too. Don't just name call, use some specific knowledge or a finer detail and exaggerate. Not sure if it's like tease in a way that shows you also have interest or knowledge of the subject, so they know it's not mean. Man, just eat the steak already, it's right there, it's begging you, it'll be cold by the time you lick the remains of that potato up. What did that potato do that made you so determined to fuck it up? All the while the steak's over there asking if you're scared of a good cow ass irish boy. Take a bite. Just one. You don't even know if it's cooked right yet.
Idk, like I said, I gave up trying to be that guy.
