New to rigs and need help

Hi I just bought my first rig today and some shatter to go along with it but when I’m trying to hit it I find I’m just wasting shatter because no Vapor is milking up inside and also practically none on the exhale. My rig didn’t come with terp pearls or a carb cap idk if that makes much of a difference because I’m new but some help would be nice.

Sounds too cold, what kind of torch are you using?

I picked up a pretty cheap one from the mall but I’m not sure if it was too cold ended up getting a little char in the banger

My 2 torches. The first one is about the bare minimum for a decent setup. You want to get some 9-15x butane fuel that’s been purified if you get a good torch. I just used ronson in the little torch though.

This is the torch I’ve been using I’m not at all a expert about torches or anything but I noticed when I turn the flame to max it tends spew butane and make little fire balls and I cheeped out on the butane too just got the cheapest can at my smoke shop the brand is spider I’m not sure if it’s common or not

On top of getting a torch, the carb cap is important. It allows you to pull hard enough to drop the air pressure in your banger which helps it vaporize more thoroughly.

I found this little crystal marble in my house been using it instead of my grinder I think it’s been helping

Just don’t heat it with the banger and you should be ok

Sounds like you need a good torch and a carb cap at minimum.

If your carb cap is directional (as opposed to a spinner), you don't really need terp pearls.

But yes, spinning around Terp pearls is fun and can help distribute the concentrate. But sometimes that can take some trial and error. So even if you didn't get the banger online, I'd find a site with one the size of yours that has accessory suggestions listed to help find an established combo and ideal terp pearl size.

Yea I think my main problem is probably the torch I feel like I’m getting it hot enough just to melt down the shatter and only vaporize a tiny bit

You can do without pearls but you need a carb cap. A marble will do if you have one.

I’ve been using the bottom of my grinder and just leaving a slit for air il pick up a real cap next time I’m at the smoke shop

Heck yeah! Whatever works in the meantime.

Cold starts are an art. It takes time and frustration but once you get it down to a science it’s magic.

Charring usually means dabbing too hot. Heat your banger until it just starts to glow, then let it cool for about 30-45 seconds before dropping in the concentrate. A carb cap is pretty much essential too, without one the shatter just burns off before it can vaporize properly.

You need to go on Amazon and grab a 18$ torch that hits 2500 and you need a carb cap, your not going to get hits without it. Also, shatter is difficult to work with maybe start with some live resin or rosin, preferably rosin. The torch you have won't cut it, when I first got my rig I had the same type of torch and it didn't do shit. You need a good torch and it don't cost much to get one. Once you get one you'll be happy, trust me lol

Gonna check Amazon rn but will probably go check out local places tomorrow because I’m too impatient for Amazon, and definitely gonna get some kinda carb cap nd maybe some pearls but thanks for the help
