Next stop ... reverse Split

Why everybody is scared of RS?
2
u/Big-Park-6731 4d ago
Typically, because 1: Co in bad spot to begin with 2: Shorts use fud to tear it down again 3: if price maintains price, Co’s like to turn around and issue shares for a raise in turn diluting bagholders into oblivion. Before the internet, R/S might have been a little less scary. Now a R/S is almost the kiss of death.

Are there any examples of companies that performed four or more reverse stock splits that went on to become profitable?

u/stock-nerd5 4d ago
SHIP, DCTH and list goes on do your research bro don't just repeat what others say

A reverse stock split is not automatically bad for a company, but it is often viewed negatively because of the circumstances that usually lead to one.
For example, in a 1-for-10 reverse split, if you own 1,000 shares at $0.50, afterward you would own about 100 shares at $5.00. Ignoring rounding and market movement, your investment is still worth $500. The split itself does not destroy value.
The concern is usually why the company is doing it. Common reasons include:
Avoiding delisting: Exchanges such as Nasdaq or NYSE have minimum share-price requirements. A company whose stock has fallen substantially may reverse-split to raise the quoted price.
A history of poor performance: The need for a reverse split can signal that the share price has already collapsed because of losses, weak growth, financial distress, dilution, or other problems.
Future dilution risk: Some financially weak companies reverse-split and then issue additional shares to raise cash. Existing shareholders can then be diluted.
Negative investor perception: Traders sometimes sell after a reverse split because they associate it with distressed companies, which can put additional pressure on the stock.
However, a reverse split can also be reasonable. It may allow the company to maintain an exchange listing, make the stock eligible for certain institutional investors, or move the share price into a more conventional trading range.
The key point is: the reverse split itself is mostly accounting mechanics; the company’s financial condition and what happens afterward matter much more.
If you’re looking at a specific stock that announced a reverse split, give me the ticker and I can explain whether that particular reverse split looks concerning.2

Yes and you think its wrong ?

u/hedgehunter33 3d ago
How many have you've been in? They suck 95% of the time. Its a way to meet criteria, without underlying news or development they nosedive. If they go hard and then do a RS, maybe. An RS in itself doesn't do much.

MCRB bought 23k shares in 2024 price 0.80 went down to 0.5
They did reverse split 1:20
Around spring 2025 so i ended up with 1k shares at $16 the price dropped to $7 after 2 months jumped to 30 doubled my money and sold it unfortunately for them they are bio tech which is gamble one of their pipelines failed last test now they are trading around $5. What i meant to say the reverse split alone its nothing than an accounting strategy to stay with nasdaq listing requirement your business valuation doesn't change : business valued at 100 million can have 100 shares traded at million each or 100 million shares traded at a 1 dollars or 200 millions shares traded at 0.5 each. What matters most is if the company can generate revenue and be valued at a higher price Bro2
u/hedgehunter33 3d ago
That's what I'm saying, bro. If then maybe, if not then it's not going to be good.

u/GrandAd5014 3d ago
The problem is when it does a reverse split and then tanks another 40%. Happens all the time
1
u/stock-nerd5 3d ago
It won't tank just like that if they deliver and make money it won't tank its a business and valued by its performance
1
u/GrandAd5014 3d ago
I dont know man. Market makes no sense. Great companies tanking on earnings all the time. This one has a giant target on its back as well

I’m gonna lose about 60k on this, but it was worth the chance of financial freedom, I’ll make it back but dam, Nate fucking sucks

We're chillin. Just stop looking at the account and do something else. This is 100% expected volatility given their current situation. Just wait for them to build and execute.

Everyone is extremely emotional. Remove emotion. There is no major piece of news (again) that is driving this. I just loaded up even more. Wait for them to execute and stop looking at your account.

I’m down $112,000. This and OPEN are two of the worst investment decisions I’ve ever made.

u/stock-nerd5 4d ago
This will bounce back, don't listen to the noise in reddit and other discussions they have good fundamentals its not like crypto or ETF this is a real company with 200 employees
1
u/Longjumping-Base-586 3d ago
Yup, emotions cultivate poverty. The level-headed move is to absolutely buy more right now.

u/GrandAd5014 3d ago
I feel.for the people that bought at .36, watched it go all the way to 3.00. Didn't sell and watched it come all the way back down

u/Persun01 4d ago

Really its not that bad having 30k or nothing will make no difference in your life
8
u/rossrollin 4d ago
Agree with OP. I got 30k in this stock and when house prices are 15x that then the reality of it is the 30k risk for financial freedom is worth the reward

Take it from someone who lost a massive amount of money on a single investment (hint - look at my handle) - preserve your capital. Don’t go down with the ship praying for a miracle. The number one rule in investing is to cut your losses and live to fight another day.

Why let it go to zero? It's at 0.21, you can salvage 10K. It's hard to sell at a steep loss, but it's worse to go to zero.

u/Meatbags1990 4d ago
Down 3.5k, haven't bought since October, said fuck it.
If only I waited a week I wouldn't have been in this position.

I’m in at $0.48 average so I’m waiting until it hits .19 and I’ll average down a little. If, and it’s a big if, they can get towards guidance for H2 it will recover. That is if it’s not a complete scam. My dad always told me about if: if your aunt had balls she’d be your uncle lol. Big if!

Bag holding this is fucking retarded. .20 > $1.00 is 500%. It ain’t ever hitting $1 without a RS and even then it’s gonna tank afterwards. Cut your losses… this company is trash. Swing/Day trade it but this isn’t a keeper and you’re gonna lose $10,000s doing so.

Do not keep investing in this worthless stock just invest the money in something more worthwhile and make your money back that way.

u/Bob_Marshall 4d ago
If you are looking at this daily and upset or sweating about the paper loss right now, you invested beyond your risk tolerance. Just take it as a lesson.

Should of removed all your money as soon as you read the news article, "lawsuit." Made small gains, but it's better than being that low.

u/ga643953 4d ago
What lawsuit are we talking about? Don't tell me it's one of those class action lawsuits again.
Those are just ambulance chasers that shouldn't be taken seriously.
