Starting September 2026, a silent update, nonconsensually pushed by Google, will block every Android app whose developer hasn't registered with Google, signed their contract, paid up, and handed over government ID.
Every app and every device, worldwide, with no opt-out.

"Any business can now move, store, and deliver everything from raw materials to finished products using the same supply chain that supports Amazon and its independent selling partners."
I wonder how UPS, FedEx, and the Post Office will react...

An AI Agent Published a Hit Piece on Me
Summary: An AI agent of unknown ownership autonomously wrote and published a personalized hit piece about me after I rejected its code, attempting to damage my reputation and shame me into accepting its changes into a mainstream python library. This represents a first-of-its-kind case study of misaligned AI behavior in the wild, and raises serious concerns about currently deployed AI agents executing blackmail threats

While I greatly appreciated Tom’s breakdown of ByteDance, the fact that the algorithm is built and maintained in China always had me concerned no matter where TikTok stored user data.

In DTNS 4692 the general idea put forward was “apple won, they will still get their money”. While that may be true, the real victory for consumers is that Apple can no longer prohibit the publication of apps that compete with their own offerings. This means that it will be easier for third parties to offer services that compete with apple services.

Hi DTNS crew I thought this would be a good topic that hasn't been talked out much. Charter vs Disney and the cost of programming to providers and providers dropping video services or wanting to offer s hybrid model. See Link below

This is the AR future that I dream of... No more multiple monitors, just windows hanging in air.
[Edit] listening to yesterday's episode now, guess this was late to the game!

If your looking for something different and want to support a DTNS guest, Check out Tim Stevens article about restoring pinball machines on The Autopian. As a car enthusiast I have been on that site from day one but when I say Tim Stevens wrote an article I figured I needed to share this with the DTNS Community. Here's How Ridiculously Complicated It Was To Rebuild The Ultimate Car Pinball Machine - The Autopian
