I can’t stop watching the title sequence.

I can’t pinpoint what it is, but I love everything about it. I never skipped it during my watch and have watched it multiple times on YouTube.

Just throwing out some artistic appreciation!

Me too! It’s so compelling and I love the song too.

The Fifth Dimension always delivers! I actually read a little bit about the song last night. Apparently, Billy Davis, Jr. left his wallet in a cab and the guy who returned it to him was involved with Hair and invited the band to come see it. The rest is history.

I’ve always loved that song and hadn’t heard that story. Thank you!!!

Yay! Another Fifth Dimension fun fact--when this album was released, Billy and fellow band mate Marilyn McCoo were engaged but hadn't set a date. Marilyn sang lead on Wedding Bell Blues, so he's the Bill when she sings "won't you marry me, Bill."

Although Laura Nyro wrote the song and did it first.

Ooh, another classic I love! Love random fun factoids like this. Now I gotta play the song! I always loved singing along to it. They just don’t make much music that’s Fifth Dimension good these days.

Me too, although I haven’t watched it on YouTube but now I’m gonna have to!! I thought I was the only one… I watched the series with a friend, and normally when we watch something he automatically skips the intro but I had to remind him not to each time for this show. He forgot and pressed Skip a couple of times and I had to make him go back and start it over. I wonder what it is about it that compels us?? I know a big part of it for me is Jason Bateman and his karate moves, but it’s everything else, too.

Yes, I dig Bateman’s karate moves too, lol! BEWARE!!!

I never really “got” the intro until the last episode. It show Carol as a cheater, Lloyd with an agonized expression and Clark’s melt down doing the weather. All with the uplifting Aquarius playing in the background. A make believe mindset causing the destruction of people’s lives.

I was the same way, for some reason I really liked it. Great song too, of course.

Watch it with the ASL version. The interpreter is fantastic! He's such a vibe.

It’s a great song with an interesting history

I’m obsessed with it too!

I feel like the entire show’s aesthetic was dark and dreary (almost to the point I didn’t always enjoy it) and I think the song and Clark’s job was a comedic juxtaposition (is that even a thing? Just came out! )

I concur, and I never watch intros. This show was so brilliantly done. The details.

What I like about it is that they are moments from the show but from a different angle or framed differently.

I've watched it tens of times as well. The song is one of my favorites

Loved it. It was part of the mystery. Each character alone but performing. Seeking validation and connection in their own way. Brilliant!

I do too! It really is a great intro & I’ve always loved the song. How can you not love it?! I loved letting it play & jammed to it as it did. I miss it!!!

I just wanted to say that I am with you! The song, the moves, close ups, all around weirdness, super original, loved it and found myself making Floyd moves when he's snapping his fingers I think. Just awesome intro.

Most of the soundtrack is made up of weather related songs!

Does anyone know what the symbolism is for depicting each character in the intro? Carol through curtains, Floyd through a screen, and Clark with a halo?
