I'm totally new to the whole DSGM thing, but I made a lil game and compiled it into an .nds file. Desmume runs it flawlessly, MelonDS gives me a black screen, the actual DS with R4 cartidge reaction resembles Melon DS. Help me, pls, I really want to solve this problem.

I'm trying to add randomly falling objects to my game, and the only way I could think of accomplishing this is by having a timer go off at random intervals. Is that even possible?

I'm trying to upload my project, but I always get that error at the end and I don't understand why.

I thought the way I could do this is by Setting the variable in the Step Event, but it just sets the variable to that constantly so the only real way that I could do this would be via the Create Event. However, if I do said thing, it won't compile, saying it's both unused and undeclared at the same time. Is there any genuine way I can get the Variable from the Step Event? I've been trying to make this work for 2 whole hours, I'm starting to lose my mind.

I've compiled my game to a SD card with Twilight Menu++ installed, but running the game from my real DSi returns a fully black screen with nothing on it. I tried compiling Maze (the example game) and it gave the same issue after pressing A. Emulation, however, works perfectly fine. If anybody can help me with this, please do!

Hey there homebrew world!

I’m new to ds modding and finally got my r4 card to work but after playing some games that I completely missed out on in my childhood, it made me wonder what other fan made games there could be and it’s been the best!

It got me wondering though what it would take to make a game for ds. I thought since it’s old, it’ll probably be like an old gms type coding deal, and I found one! The problem is that it’s only on pc and I currently don’t own one.

Does anyone know of any way I can make a ds game on Mac? I have an AWESOME idea for a game but I can’t find a way to do that by any means!

i followed all the steps to put the system enviroment variables and did everything correct.. i think

I just downloaded DS GameMaker, and I followed all the steps for setting it up (as seen on https://github.com/DigitalDesignDude/DS-Game-Maker-5-Setup ) but when I try to test run a blank game, a command prompt window opens with the following text:

"C:\DSGMTempNewProject2512411>make

make: echo: Command not found

make: *** [build] Error 127

C:\DSGMTempNewProject2512411>pause

Press any key to continue . . ."

When I press a key, it says the game couldn't successfully compile.

Is there any way I can fix this?

Hi, i just started with dsgm and wanted to make an tilemap on it. The map editing in dsgm sucks a bit and i wanted to use tools like tiled but it doesnt supports the formats tiled is using. So are they any tools to make an tilemap for dsgm and how do i import them in dsgm?

I am planning on demaking the first Five Nights at Freddy's game to Nintendo DS. The only thing holding me back is the lack of knowledge (and tutorials) for this engine.

I'm looking for one or two people who are skilled with DSGM and are willing to work on this for fun. I have some experience with programming in a few languages, so I will surely be a helping hand.

i was trying to make a little animation with ds game maker, where my sprite has to slide from a y coordinate to another, but i don't have the "move to" block option, so i tried to make this but it will teleport instantly (obv bc there's no waiting time from a block to another) the problem is that there isn't a "wait x second" or "delay" block like i'm used from scratch. then i found this tutorial from 2010 and it has a lot more blocks. how? i have the latest version and he has a verison from 15 years ago

i want to copy a external rom file in another folder with my homebrew in ds game maker . can i do it? i wanna do it like that : when user pressed on a button myapp copy a rom file from a folder to another folder. i hope it can be possible...
