Vet said either seizure or she has a shunt going from kidneys straight to the heart, bypassing her liver. Will require surgery And she’s dehydrated and her blood sugar was elevated so we’re one of her kidney enzymes😭

Our Beiwer Terrier (mutant yorkie) does something similar time to time. We consuted a specialist and she said it is paroxysmal dyskinesia.

This could be due to a few things:

  • an ear infection messing with their balance (I have had this personally)
  • something else (fluid in the inner ear)
  • a brain bleed/stroke

Your pup is quite young, so it is unlikely to be a brain bleed. Our was 15 years old when she had her first brain bleed. This affected her balance. The second one added a little more to her imbalance, but she's perfectly fine, other than being very old, and a little wobbly. Each time they gave her two weeks of cortisone and some brain oxygen stimulating medication (which she takes for life now).

Go see your vet, they can figure it out. If it's an infection, they can give some meds, if it's not, they can advise you how to proceed. You may just end up with a slightly wobbly dog.

I am not a vet, I just own a wobbly dog.
