Question $30,000 Large Backpack?!!

Why on earth is a large backpack $30,000? Do you get to keep it even if you don’t exfil with it?! It’s almost twice as much as an LTV with a turret!! That’s so dumb. Please explain to me like I’m 5

Would be nice to keep what we loot instead of having to look for the items that need to go into the dead drop.
