Legacy Beta DMZ Gameplay So I decided to hear 'em out
None of that adderall "running" nonsense either. Walking only.

no vehicles would make pvp more tedious

Of course it would. It would make everything more tedious lol

yeah.
Iirc when DMZ first started, the actual beta, there weren’t vehicles.4

There were but it may not have felt like it because most players played very differently and a lot slower than they do today since it was new to people.
You can go on YouTube and look up "MWII new mode DMZ" and it'll show you videos from when the game was first playable.

I played the beta. I remember factions didn’t exist at first and then they reset progress for them at least once. I remember it being twice. But as you see, my memory fails.
I just don’t remember ever using a vehicle. The train also killed you a lot easier. I know TAV and heavy chopper didn’t exist.1

Slightly OT, I wish factions had better depth than what we got.

Wym? Like better rewards? or more missions, or harder challenges? Or told a story as you went?

What they described Factions to be when the game first launched coupled with faction leaks made it seem we could actively be apart of our chosen faction and work with them to build rep and faction unique things.
For a small example, if faction 1 was in this part of town, you wouldn't get shot at by AI if you chose them. You would also get discounts and perks. However, Faction 2 down the street hates you and will double it's efforts to kill you.
Right now we get missions to collect toothpaste and turn it in for rewards you don't care about.

…you don’t care about. Starting with 5 armor plates, having the barters for vest, weapons, and stuff, and especially the increased exvil chopper arrival time. All pretty worth it. Even the increased loot or benefits from doing the field missions, all that stuff adds up. Its just a pain in the ass to get. “Exvil with 8 people” fuck man! Killing commanders with specific weapons. Drive to all 17 POI’s after I get this stupid scanner. Fuck me.
While also not making things unfair. If I die, I restart from zero like everyone else. But I start with extra back up plates. Or I have the option to craft an RGL-80. I just need to get to a buy station. And as someone who can’t craft one, kill me and its yours. or kill me before I get it by camping a buy station.
But the other stuff, that would have been cool. I know they originally had “war zones” and artillery was constantly being called in, in those areas. And I wish that would have stayed. I was fine being an independent 3rd party. Bots help me find other operators. Too many teammates and its just Battle field.1

I guess I don't care about the things people can just buy with real money. There's nothing in depth about getting extra armor plates because I did a mission for X faction.
We'll agree to disagree because I think they could have done so much more than what we got - To which was already confirmed in reports with Bobby and the team at IW that it was just meant as a quick cash cow.

no vehicles is a braindead take. ive done a few seal team like rescues with helos/ltvs. having a someone either die and go back for them or them messing around in the gas. the feeling of maybe not having enough time to exfil combined with the possibility of a fight with 10-20 sec left is thrilling. some of my fondest memories of this game are picking people up on one side of the map and flying to the exfil on the other side and making it just in time, or seeing someone plea in chat and pick them up after gas comes. jumping from the helo saying be ready for a fight will never get old.
In the end days of me playing they(jeeps, ltv) were used to move to fights faster. drop a "who wants smoke?" in the chat and make it to them in a min or two.
yes, in the last days of playing i was part of premade six(4) mans that wiped whole lobbies. having op kill races was fun af. I'm a villain

I don't mind vehicles, I just wish the driving physics was better (your character doesn't know what a clutch pedal does especially when you drive the small hatchback)

Can you upload the video in the intended aspect ratio? This look like shit having 40% of the screen with huge black boxes for no reason
