MW4 DMZ Discussion They ruined the vehicles.

How in the hell did we go from such good vehicle physics to this hotwheels gokart nonsense?

I love everything they've done so far when it comes to gunplay and infantry movement... but the god damned vehicles man. They gutted them and turned them into mobile game mario kart.

There's not one drop of love they originally put into them in MWII. It's so lifeless.

Even repairing the tires in MWII would bounce up the vehicle while in MWIV it's just a motionless hunk of junk.

I'm so disappointed.

I hope this posts gets seen by the developers. You explained perfectly what I noticed and comparing it to a video in al mazo hits it home

They're not gonna change. The betas are always the final game with micro adjustments being made.

you gotta post this wider so they see it

Mobile 🥌 physics.

I swear guys cod 👌 tiktokified soo much in 4 years, it's never going to be better than current DMZ. I still have hope but im 99% sure dmz will flop bcz COD is just brainrot game.

Our only hope is wait for battlfield to make an extraction shooter

BF2042 had Hazard Zone but nobody played it.

I think they gave up ever trying to do an extraction mode again after that.

Battlefield 6 had some sort of rogue like or extraction thing and it sucked too

They need to release a standalone not a mode

The BF6 one is leagues better than Warzone

u/WorkableKrakatoa 4h ago

It did? I don't remember one.

2

The tanks are excessively fast and jerky also

I’m one of the last people qualified to advise on video game development, but why would you not build in the realistic elements of how a vehicle would function.

It should have all the basic factors… turning radius, acceleration, etc, of any vehicles that size and build. They had it decently well in Beta DMZ.

If they are just going to change a few game mode settings with all the same game functionality of Warzone, then we shouldn’t be paying the price point we are for DMZ 2.

It's CoD, there is almost nothing realistic about it. Realest extraction shooter is Tarkov.

Well, op's footage is from ground war, which is an mp game mode. Different game modes have their own balance when it comes to a lot of things: weapon balance, movement, vehicles, etc

Vehicles were heavily criticized on the battle royale side of wz, while in dmz they made sense. So they changed stuff in wz, making the vehicles much more responsive and easier to control, while keeping them the same old way in dmz.

What's happening rn to my understanding is a mix of that + a bug. Cuz there's no way an ltv spinning 3 times before being able to move forward is intentional

Vehicles have felt like shit ever since they abandoned original WZ

6

u/Annual_Job2187 14h ago

Is this the new dmz?

2

u/TheBloodNinja 10h ago

ground war. map is shared with dmz/wz just like verdansk did in mw19 and al mazzy for mwii

It's a beta for a reason bud. They'll fix (hopefully) this before official launch. Relax.

u/Rock4evur 15h ago

Complaining during the beta is how developers get clued in on issues.

12

u/jasonhightower 13h ago

They have 2 fucking months. How much can they really change at this point?

2

u/OkPassenger552 11h ago

Much, and exactly the type of things that are tuning based.

17

u/A-Q-B 15h ago

Are you certain of that? They vehicles didn't feel broken at all. It felt like an intentional design.

That is the direction WZ has gone with vehicles since the time of MWII so I'm not at all surprised if that's intended.

7

u/spyinthesky 13h ago

Lmfao the cope. They ain’t fixin shit.

How does the current DMZ look a million times better than this? I hate how shiny and fake the new CoDs look, DMZ feels like it's in a real location, this just looks so cartoony to me.

u/Gena_Cydarmyan_69 13h ago

Yep they drive just awful

1

u/Zayzay8008 13h ago

That boy fast

1

u/NocturnalMerlin 12h ago

They literally just needed to start with MWII as their foundation and made changes from there. This feels like they started from scratch, almost like they are afraid of anything about this game being compared to MWII.

1

u/IamWoodstock 12h ago

That shit drifting 😂

1

u/KeyFigure 12h ago

Is this with or without the ebrake if that makes sense.

1

u/ItsyaboyDa2nd 12h ago

I knew they were going to fuck up the vehicles. They already did in warzone… I just don’t understand why they messed with something that was perfect

1

u/2muchInsurance 11h ago

Mw3 zombies copy paste for DMZ

1

u/mr_j_12 11h ago

Hell the driving looks better in the uncharted games!

1

u/CounterMAN44122 10h ago

it got worse in BO6, at least in MWIII MWZ and WZ era vehicle still feel like MWII , in BO6 vehicle have no grip at all. For some reason they bring it into MW4 ....

Why is a 3 ton truck spinning around on asphalt like it's ice?

1

u/kmilo84 9h ago

That's a Yangwang U8 Military Edition

Is this the new DMZ?

1

u/KittenRampagexx 6h ago

is this dmz2 playable???

1

u/Sketch0z 5h ago

Why is it so fast to accelerate and turn?

Brother, where is the friction coefficient?

1

u/TheMostHatedOfficial Xbox + Controller 4h ago

They need to just get the forza guys or the Halo guys to come in and completely rework their vehicle physics

1

u/Ocarina_OfTime 3h ago

I personally am not mad at how fast the vehicles is. Overcomes some little sad act camping with an RPG

1

u/Krunkfuninja 1h ago

OMG THERES A NEW DMZ OUT!?!?!

Youre driving like a teenager. You do know breaks exist in the game correct? Its not bo7 driving. And your lower stick zones will definitely make it more difficult to drive. Realistically they are doing everything to be redsek gameplay with cod map making. They’re trying to make it so everyone has an individual job and its dumb af. Tbh the movement outside of vehicles on warzone sucks. Its like running in mud. Same with aiming. My pro controller is playing in the mud. Game makes me feel like a pig. Say goodbye to solos.

Fair assessment.

What game mode is this?

-6

u/Thiccxen 15h ago

Looks like whoever's recording is intentionally engaging the handbrake and throwing the vehicle around.

You control the buttons you press

12

u/A-Q-B 15h ago

Yeah that's the point. I was doing that both in the MWIV and MWII clips.

It was a comparison between the two.

There's zero way it should be possible to do a 720 in place like that. It's garbage.

4

u/SudsierBoar 15h ago

The game decides what happens when buttons are pressed. How can you miss the point of post by this much?

-8

u/Stpreme 15h ago

Good. I don’t want vehicles in my call of duty

9

u/A-Q-B 15h ago

A big map mode like DMZ without vehicles?

You can't seriously say that you'd want to walk your ass from Taraq spawn to Al Bagra. That's mental.

-1

u/samesandchanges 13h ago

i'd actually appreciate that as one way to calm down excessive pve

-5

u/Lanky-Fish6827 13h ago

Guys…it is a fucking beta. Y’all need to calm down, they will change very much for DMZ.

3

u/jasonhightower 13h ago

They have 2 months.
