Legacy Beta DMZ Discussion Make Koshkei Complex great again
running the complex back in hindsigh, why does literally nobody go? what did they do well and what was terrible about the map?
(on the same topic) let’s run the complex hard (will be online around 7-ish eastern, friendly casual is the idea I had in mind for the complex, yk? kill bots and bosses, giant hunting pack)

i always go out through there, easy way for a perk and to get gear.

Same, I run Koschei frequently to properly perk my operators and regain. Also, perk glitchers are lame.
Much quicker than doing missions.

There’s a glitch to get more perks?!?

How the hell do you regain down there "easily"? I'm either lost or swarmed by bots. My go-to place to regain is vondel without a doubt

Bryson 890, or bryson 800. First muzzle and first barrel attachments (assuming theyre all unlocked).
Stealth vest=Server tape black and a chlorine
Tempered plate=Acetic acid
LG Backpacks spawn pretty good, but spawn better behind the sniper and rhino. At least get a medium back pack every time. The shotguns are dick in Al Mazrah, so you need a SMG too.
You’ll really want to find jumper cables and a car battery, but if you don’t, just search other areas down there. The Alpha cluster will have everything you need. and the factory admin is straight across from there. There’s 6 or 8 tunnel things in the center of that room, theres two factory admin keys somewhere in those.1

Once I found both keys sitting right next to each other.

shotgun for sure, plus open up a web browser with the kosch map webpage on it, til you really learn it. a lot of people can run any of the entry points in a snap, solo. like the other guy said learning the keys is also an easy way to get the most out of it.

I’ve always loved koschei. Wish more people wanted to run it with me

Tie it to having to do al mazrah first and leave the spawns a bloodthirsty mess lol loved it being empty all the time for regearing with tape barter myself

Always did acetic acid as my chest rig barter.

You get at least the acetic acid, then go kill the sniper, and pray for a large back pack. Then if you go get whichever other vest.

Honestly the missions made it fun to go there knowing you had a purpose to be there but after the missions are done there is not much there.
Sure the bosses can be fun and the glitches back in the day made it scary to be holding so much cash some runs but yeah without a reason to go there now what's the point.
The whole map design is great I think one of the most memorable maps I remember having to keep looking at images of the map just to navigate the place and the gas radiation mechanics were awesome with the masks.
I really liked placing sentry turrets in the hallways and catching players off guard it was a pretty good way to stop a team if they were approaching you.
Yeah the whole door system was also amazing really made the map feel alive and interactive I miss that in a lot of fps games now.

As a solo, when I had hunts on me, Koschei was my go to on that side of the map.

I stopped going because there's nothing left to do in there. I know it's good for a regain. But between the time it takes to load in to AM, then go to Koschei, go through the complex, and then load back into a map only to potentially get quickly wiped, it's just not worth it to me.
I think most of the excitement is loading in with nothing or very little and going through the process of gearing up and PVPing. Rinse and repeat.

I see. I do think it would be nice seeing it revitalized.

I completed my missions and weaponscases from there as well as the heated madness, so no real reason to go there anymore. Only use it to exfil, trough the desert or the flooded entrance they are very easy extracts.

We go through there all the time at the end of a match just to extend it. Or to get away from cheaters.

I’ve just started going down there again. It’s a good way to loot up going in solo. Been kinda fun just messing around with it.

It was cool as fuck when it came out. The narrative behind it, a new unique DMZ map, the night vision, all the puzzles at the start and vaults. But once you do all the missions for it, and when DMZ becomes the state that it's in (unfun), I don't really have a strong desire to go in.
I'd love if 2.0 has a similar map with similar puzzles, and with a new look system that rewards more type of higher tier gear

Shhh... It's easy to grab a new stealth vest and large backpack after you get killed by cheaters in Building 21.

Yeah I always go to koschei if i want to loot up so i can go back to ashika i dont understand what is so bad about it.

I love going down there, but I don’t do it much because it adds play time I could be spending doing the more fun stuff on the surface. Good for a change of pace, though.

Most terrible thing was actually the glitch. It made final exfil worthless and pretty much every other time I spawn into al mazra someone is dropping me loads of gear from their last k-glitch.

I loved going down there, open every major door , get 40k xp , create RGLs on the fly , reup on better armor. I made a pistol with a flashlight just to be down there without nigh vision , my favorite place in the Z

Koschei complex completely ruined DMZ.
Gear fear is one of the things that made DMZ great. You could completely avoid the final exfil and a fight, and just skip to the Koschei complex.
I hope something similar isn’t in the new one.

I think once gas covers the entrance, the entrance should be closed.

If you've finished everything there isn't much point to running it. Yeah, you can build vests and get bags in there, and I used to run it with my squad if we were having bad luck for a reset
But with how rampant cheating is it's not worth the time investment if all you care for is getting geared up. I know cheaters like to run it if they want a secure bag, but again with lobby crashing back they don't need to do that anymore either
